Monday's Labor Day edition of WWE RAW, the first show with Kevin Owens as WWE Universal Champion, drew 3.069 million viewers. This is down 10% from last week's 3.413 million viewers.
For this week's show, the first hour drew 3.350 million viewers, the second hour drew 3.066 million viewers and the final hour drew 2.792 million viewers. The final hour was down 17% from the first. RAW was #5 on cable for the night in viewership, behind Major Crimes, Rizzolli & Isles and college football, and #3 in the 18-49 demographic, behind college football.
In comparison, the Labor Day 2015 RAW drew 3.338 million viewers.
Yeah, what that show deserved. Losing nearly 20% of their audience by the third hour especially.

Is this usually the case for Labor Day shows?

Is this usually the case for Labor Day shows? No, they had 3.3 million last year. If it were just a matter of, "More people cutting the cord, that's the only reason!" like they say it'd have been a 1.8 percent drop, they'd have only gone down by about 60,000 people, but instead it was more a 10% drop. People are just plain tuning out.

I blame Finn Balor even if he's not on the show.

Owens/Zayn has reached Cena/Orton or Kofi/Dolph levels of played out. That isn't a match you announce as your main event and expect a good rating for.

And yet, they will change jack shit. Seriously WWE, poll your viewers, all ages, listen to them, change.

Well at least they'll have the MNF excuse to use next week.

It's somewhat comforting knowing there's almost 3 million people that value their time as little as I do mine.

Well at least they'll have the MNF excuse to use next week. Very real chance next week SmackDown gets the higher rating. Which I hope happens and then never stops happening.

There was nothing to keep people watching throughout the show.
We saw the Rollins/Owens reactions at the start then....nothing. And that's a huge part of what WWE has gotten wrong this past few years.
Look at last week. They hyped up a big fatal 4-way for the Universal Title, built it well throughout the show, and were rewarded with a pretty good rating. The 1st hour rating for this week shows the interest in Owens as champ being chased by Rollins and Reigns but after the opening segment, nothing interesting happened.
And that 3rd hour was particularly abysmal on Monday. Just bad segment after bad segment. It was always destined to be ratings poison.

So Kevin Owens is a flop too. Put it on Big Cass brother. Wouldn't say that since most of the increase from last week stuck around this week to begin with, they just as it went tuned out because the show was garbage.
