I literally went into my polling place sick at my stomach over this. There are zero good choices for the main office so I looked at the VPs and went for Kaine and I guess Clinton. I'll honestly be shocked if her or Trump makes it to mid-terms.
Got to say I am even more unhappy it took this to get people, in my area at least, out to vote. I've voted in every election since '04 (my first possible) and saw and heard of more people voting early this one than in total for every one before. I know it's not glamorous but this kinda turn out in the past could have helped prevent this situation.

I voted for Hillary with the quickness. However, I'm in a state where it doesn't matter and she has no shot of winning. She wasn't my initial choice, but the prospect of a Donald Trump presidency is f***ing terrifying.
I love politics and Election Day always has me in a ball of nerves until the race is called. This year is about 100X's worse than normal. It honestly terrifies me to think of what will happen if that other candidate wins. I'm also a little worried about what his supporters will do when/if he loses. Or at least, the supporters he has around here.
I've constantly looked at respected models/statisticians/scientists/pollsters/whatever this morning and tried to take some comfort in the fact that they're all predicting a Clinton win, but it isn't helping much. It also sucks that I'm not working today, so I have nothing to do so that I can pass the time and not dwell on this garbage.
Make the right choice, America. Do it for the bald eagles and all of that.

It should have been enough for most that Ivana Trump had to retract her rape claims as part of their divorce settlement. It should have been enough that Trump's earliest appearances in newspapers was for discriminating against black renters. It should have been enough that that he routinely stiffed contractors for their payments. It should have been enough that he bragged about sexually assaulting women, on video. It should have been enough that his foreign policy calls for committing war crimes. It should have been enough that his rhetoric threatens to undermine the democratic process itself. It should have been enough that the list of his outright lies ticks up faster than a webpage hit counter. (Not that Hilary is a paragon of honesty, but if that is your problem wit her the better alternative damn sure isn't Trump) Maybe it'll be enough today that he flat out lied about Tom Brady endorsing him. Maybe that is where the line is drawn. Or that after going after Hilary for the emails, and after going after Obama for years for his birth certificate, he broke from decades long tradition and never released his tax returns. That's one of the things that really gets me. ("One of" being the operative phrase, but bear with me) It feels like either there's something damning, or he's really so prideful that he didn't want to go back on his refusal once made, even though it would have probably taken a good deal of heat off of him or pushed stuff off of the front page. Guessing the plan for if he loses is to do that Trump channel Ivanka's husband was trying to shop around, not unlike Sarah Palin and her media focus. I certainly don't see him remaining involved actively in politics, given his distaste for politicians being one of the very few things I feel he is sincere about. I'm sure he'll still try to have people court him for an endorsement, funding, things like that, but I don't see him running for senate, mayor, governor, etc.

As someone from Canada watching this unfold i have to say this: Not once have i heard from either Trump or Hilary what exactly they want to do or policies they want to put in place, except for Trump's wall. The only thing i ever see of them in the news is them trashing the other one. Sad that politics is now at this point That's just about what I've been thinking (apart from the Canada bit). Considering the amount of coverage this campaign has had (and the length of it), you would expect me to be able to name at least a couple of things that each of them are planning to do if they win, without having to go and find out for myself.

I do not know if it will hold up or not, because it was from a poll that was a couple months old, but I remember seeing I believe it was a Pew Research Poll, that said that this election is the first time in our entire history of our country where over 50% of Americans want both candidates to be one term presidents, no matter who they face in 2020.

There has been almost no chance of Trump winning this for many months now. Every time they say the polls are getting closer they still show a pretty easy victory for Hillary.
I voted early and I voted for Gary Johnson not because I like him but because i can't stand Hillary or Trump.
People say a 3rd party vote is a wasted vote. I disagree, the current two party system got us these two choices that not many people seen to be too enthusiastic about. If you keep saying "it's useless, they can't win" then I think you're missing the point. Maybe they get 5% this time, 10 the next, and become legitimate contenders down the line. I see nothing wrong with more options to choose from.

If this were any other election with 2 unfavorable(but unremarkable) candidates, I probably would've voted 3rd party. But this election? I feel like I can't take that chance.

Voting for Clinton, but its more a party vote than anything. Whatever my issues with her (and they're considerable), I trust the people she'll surround herself with sooner than the people who will make up Trump's staff and advisers. Plus if a VP has to step into the role for commander and chief for any reason, for me Kaine over Pence is a no brainer.

I am voting for Hillary and I think she will do a fine job but I really think we are going to miss Obama over the next few years.

I think that's why this whole thing seems so surreal

This would have been less contentious if...
1. Social media wasn't a thing
2. Some people don't support their political parties like they do they're local sports teams
3. When someone says "Yanno I don't think I like Hillary" the response isn't "oh so you love Donald Trump???" And vice versa.
Political discourse is dead, whatever was left of it.

So I voted. Being in NY its a foregone conclusion that Hillary is taking the state. I went for Johnson and Independent across the board. It just sucks that in my area, President and only one other office were being contested. Every other incumbent is running unopposed. Really feels like a wasted vote year.

Although I voted for Trump, I respect all voters' choices, so long as they make informed choices, do their research and don't rely on biased news outlets (FOX, CNN, HLN, etc.) or celebrities who are trying to use their agendas on people. Those are the worst.
I respect those who voted for Hillary and who actually have sound reasons for doing so. I don't respect Hillary voters whose entire basis is, "Woo! First woman president!!).

Thing is, people have been saying Trump won't win since he announced he was running that he would never make it past the primaries, never become the front runner etc etc. That's why many (including myself) are so nervous. Trump has a legit chance of winning, and the that thought is scary.

Woke up with a really bad sinus infection. This somehow sums up perfectly how I feel about this election.
