So the Royal Rumble's been quite a cluster**** the last three years, four if you include 2013 because it led to Twice In A Lifetime. 2014: No Daniel Bryan, Rey Mysterious coming out at 30 and getting probably the biggest heat of his career, CM Punk's final appearance, Batista wins. 2015: Oh boy... Daniel Bryan's quick elimination which helped with the death of the crowd, Local Men literally tossing out everybody. Roman winning and receiving massive boos so they get out The Rock who gets booed himself. 2016: While not as terrible as the previous year, we got some terrible camera work that kinda ruined AJ's debut entrance. The Wyatts/Lesnar mess that led to nowhere, shenanigans happening to Roman because his ass couldn't last the whole match. Triple H winning the WWE Championship in 2016, enough said. I just want a Rumble that's good again.

I feel that most Rumbles in the recent decade have been pretty atrocious. While I was initially against it, in the end the 40 man Rumble seemed to work. I actually wish they went back to that. They have the roster to support it from the looks of things.

There isn't even really anyone I'm rooting for and I still expect to be annoyed with the winner.

This is the first time in a while I'm not sure who's going to win.

Also the rumble has been disappointing for a longer time.
Cena winning for the rematch no one really wanted , Del Rio the charisma black.hole winning and before that we had boring persona Sheamus winning

Somehow, HoHo Lun will end up winning the whole thing.

Yes because WWE will do something stupid like having guys who aren't over run roughshod or the guy the fans are cheering for look like a gimp and get eliminated quick. Plus I don't trust WWE to pick the right guy to win. They'll probably pick Rollins so we can have Seth vs Reigns at 'Mania.

If it were up to me, winning the Royal Rumble would be something you could only ever achieve once in your career.
I mentioned this in the Rumble thread but I hate that 3 of the last 4 Royal Rumbles have been won by guys that have won it before.
Funny how Roman Reigns winning it is the one that bothers me the least.
Really could have done without Triple H winning it last year.
Who thought it was a good idea for Batista to win the Royal Rumble in 2014 is still baffling.
and John Cena, probably the one that annoys me least but still.
Point is, I want a first time Rumble winner, I don't care if it's Goldberg or Braun Strowman.. But we need to get back to the long run of first time winners then I wont be to upset.

The finish was disappointing but I thought for the most part the Rumble match itself was fun last year. I also think in a way the lowered expectations will make this year a little more fun. 14 and 15 Bryan was the fans pick and so when he got out it was disappointing, and last year it was anyone but Roman. Since Roman isn't in it this year and there's no overwhelming fan demand for any one winner in particular it makes for a more fun environment. Also I'm gonna be there in person so I'm planning to just sit back and enjoy it regardless

If you already think it will be bad, then it will always be bad.

Whatever it ends up being, I can guarantee it'll be the polar opposite of what makes the most sense and completely contradict what people actually want to see at Mania.

Val's 2 crazy predictions:
Seth and Dean are the last two. Goldberg and Lesnar are wrecking shit around the arena/ring. They end up destroying the ring or somehow getting Seth and Dean to a no-contest or double elimination. This creates that Shield Triple Threat at WM. They've been shoving shield shit in our face the last while I can't help but think they'll do it.
OR
They'll go Full Roman Boner and stick him in the Rumble after he loses to Owens... and he wins the Rumble. I'll just flat out quit watching RAW until after WM. I have zero confidence that the WWE isn't still on the "ROMAN OR NOTHING" money hemorrhaging warpath.
The first scenario is kinda disappointing, but at least 2/3rds of the main event would be cheered. The second is on a cosmic level of disappointment.

The poor crowd was so dead and disappointed after Bryan was eliminated in 2015.
The worst thing about Triple H winning was that he didn't even cheat. He won fair and square.
I didn't like that the entire Wyatt family was allowed to come in and eliminate Lesnar. They need to keep interference out of it and also when a guy goes under the rope he should have a count to get back in.

I feel like it'll have some fun interactions at the least. I also expect Joe.

I'm not even a big fan of the guy, but I feel like one of the few ways WWE could make this year's Rumble not seem like a disappointment would be if Finn Balor made it back somewhat earlier than expected and got set on track to take his belt back at Wrestlemania. I'm certainly not expecting much from the match at this point.

That depends, is Tye Dillinger entering at number 10?

I'm also going in with lower expectations this year, I probably wouldn't be bothered if Braun won it to be honest.
Should be interesting as I bought a ticket to see it live.

Well with Lesnar and Goldberg in the thing I can't see the ring filling up too much. Who knows though, maybe they will both eliminate eachother and James Ellsworth can be the next entrance and run around the ring like he won the match.
