I might see it, but after BvS and Suicide Squad, I really don't know how good any upcoming DC movies will be. I know a lot of people who liked Suicide Squad a lot, but I mostly thought it was just average at best. However, this doesn't seem too good for this, but in the end, my opinion of the final product will be the only one that matters to me.

F***!!!!!!
This DCEU thing isn't gonna work out is it?
Though I wonder how certain people are gonna blame this on Marvel or say that superhero movies have "jumped the shark" and that's why this is happening.
Though this begs to ask the question.
Why can Marvel make 10 billion dollars off this and DC can't even get their franchise off the ground?

I follow certain Youtube reactors online who will no doubt do their best to hit "damage control" on this news and try to spin a positive line of thinking out of it. I think DC have all the tools to suceed in this area, as they already have shows and comics superior to that of Marvel's output, they just need to translate the language of that sucess to these bigwig movie execs who are clearly out of touch with readership

This is what happens when you see someone doing something successful and saying "Hey, that looks easy! I can do that, too!". At this point, I would scrap everything after Justice League and Wonder Woman and make everything else one-offs.

Or do what people have been saying from the beginning and use the tv shows as a base for the movies.

Wonder Woman actually looks good and while of course it's the trailer, it definitely looks pretty damn good. I sincerely hope this report isn't true because the DCEU cannot afford to have both Wonder Woman and Justice League either flop/underperform.

WW looks damn good from the trailers but we have come to realize that when it comes to DC trailers mean absolutely nothing.

This is a long shot of course. But is it possible that maybe, maybe quite a few critics are so gung ho about Marvel that it's sabotaging DC to degree?
While I do enjoy Marvel, I've always made the statement that Marvel has played it too safe with its films and that DC has always had the darker characters, stories, themes, and that critics shouldn't complain about the more brooding and serious nature of their films. So what exactly is going on here?

But historically DC haven't had the darker characters as a whole. The whole reason Marvel was different from DC in the first place in the Silver Age was because they were more 'realistic' at the time.
Of your core DC characters, only Batman has ever been dark. And he's only been dark at varying periods in his history. He's had at least as much time being completely sunny. But take him out of the equation and virtually none of the core characters are dark: Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash, Aquaman etc.. none of those characters are dark when they're at their most iconic.
Certainly none of them are darker than say Daredevil, Punisher, Ghost Rider et al. And I understand that those are your second stringers for Marvel, but take THE Marvel character Spider-man. His whole deal is guilt.

So what exactly is going on here? I think there's a difference between dark and suicidally depressing. BVS was depressing and dark not only in tone but in atmosphere the whole thing just felt weighted down. Suicide Squad was a clusterf*** because there were too many cooks in the kitchen. As far as Marvel goes I wouldn't call them taking the easy road at all. I'd say the MCU as a whole knows how to walk the line between dark and light. Civil War is not at all a fun and happy movie though it has funny moments. It's by far the darkest MCU film to date with Zemo on a whole doing what he wanted to accomplish. The Avengers for now are no more. There was no happy ending with the team all together. Bucky's in cryo. Team Cap are the world's most wanted fugitives. Rhodey is paralyzed except for Tony's gadget. Hulk and Thor are not only M.I.A but have no idea what's going on as far as anyone knows. The MCU isn't all sunshine and roses.

Just can it and tag more TV onto the Arrowverse.
We all knew this was gonna suck when they planned out 10 movies before the 2nd one had even come out.
Marvel didn't plan Avengers until they saw people's reactions to that cameo in Hulk.

His whole deal is guilt. I've found some of the more enjoyable Spider-Man stories in recent memory don't really play up the guilt thing, they're very niche though. The guilt thing annoys a lot of fans because it holds him back from developing further (as the infamous One More Day demonstrated)

I really wouldn't take much of what Sasha says seriously. She's the main reason I stopped watching the show.
She claims Benedict Cumberbatch is one of the biggest assholes in Hollywood because her husband said so yet everyone else says he's one of the coolest guys.
Will WW and JL turn out terrible? It's absolutely possible but she isn't a reliable source.

Almost every Marvel hero are who they are due to something f***ed up happening to them. And Marvel pretty much corners the market on antiheroes

Well Superman definitely had tragedy in his backstory of course; but for the most part early on it was simply a plot device to get him to Earth. It was only late they explored Krypton more.
