I love how Dunne and Bate put on this great match but people can't get Randy Orton out of their thoughts.

The sad part if these two are completely unknown, yet had the crowd in the palm of there hand. Where as at Backlash, Orton vs Mahal will most likely fall completely flat and WWE will learn nothing. Stunned silence at being in the mere presence of The Maharaja.

Rewatched it, even better with JR and Nigel at the booth. I always liked Nigel's commentary, but he sounds so much better now. And he worked well with JR.

I really hope WWE don't drop the ball with Dinner. He's fantastic. Bate is great too, needs work on his character but his in ring skills are great. Team Dinner with Becky Lunch, match made in heaven.

I don't understand why wrestlers from the UK have to be completely segregated from other wrestlers. But...
Damn. That match puts up a swell argument. More than anything with the cruiserweights on the main roster, more than anything on 205, Bate and Dune wrestled an awesome match with its own distinctive style. They did things you don't see on WWE regularly and it felt different. It felt new, kind of like the CWC before ZSJ and Ibushi said no and the whole thing tempered off.
It's honestly the biggest compliment I can give to Tyler Bate: I may have found my new Primo. Maybe.

I didn't get to see Takeover live. I heard the hype surrounding this match on Twitter after it happened. I finally got to see the match today. Usually when I watch a match with high expectations it turns out to be letdown, but this match surpassed the hype in my opinion. Both guys from start to finish played their characters well. The technical wrestling, the strike exchanges, and the high flying all looked fantastic. The crowd was tremendous during this match as they really got into the action. This match might be a breakthrough moment for the whole UK experiment. Getting JR back on commentary was just the icing on the cake. Congrats to everyone involved. Job well done.
My only TINY little nitpick is that I wish Dunn would use a few more underhanded tactics to establish himself as the heel.

It was my first time seeing both guys, and I was super impressed with Pete Dunne. He reminds me of Regal in all the best ways.

So I just finished watching this and...wow. People aren't wrong about this being the best WWE match of this year because everyone on the roster needs to really step up to top it.
And people have said this for weeks since the tourney, how the hell is Tyler Bate 20 years old? And how is he already so good?!
I only wish it was a few minutes longer but then the story flowed so well that it was only a very minor nitpick.

That match is the type of match that goes on at the end of a show, because everyone knows damn well that no one will be surpassing it.
Bravo. Fantastic stuff.

I don't understand why wrestlers from the UK have to be completely segregated from other wrestlers. But... They're getting the ball rolling on a UK show. Which, considering how their contracts allow for bookings with PROGRESS, OTT and ICW, makes a lot more sense with occasional spots on a Takeover since they don't have to pay them a bundle to get them in the US every week.

I'd be shocked if they don't make it on the 'Mania card next year.

Maybe I have to watch it again. It seemed like a big spot fest where no one sold anything, which is pretty much the same as most modern day WWE main events. I don't know, maybe this is just a sign that I'm getting too old for this stuff, because the whole thing seemed like one big rehearsed dance. I prefer the big spectacle with a few high spots, selling, and a great story to sell the entire thing. One of my big complaints of modern day WWE is that it's really light on story and really heavy on flips and high risk stuff that doesn't end up meaning jack. And ratings back up what I'm saying, indy guys don't draw like the wrestlers of the 80's and 90's. For all the crap we give Vince, his larger than life stars of those eras were all bigger draws than the Bryan's, Punk's, and Style's of today. This match wasn't heavy on flips and high risk stuff though?

I felt like watching this match it was almost a direct F.U to Randy Orton's comments early in the week. No it wasn't. Almost nothing from that rant was in this match. And again, also, those weren't Randy's comments - that was something he reposted from someone else.

I love how Dunne and Bate put on this great match but people can't get Randy Orton out of their thoughts. ...is... Randy Orton working us?? For his Mahal match tonight... It will CERTAINLY get a lot of notice from people that want to compare the WWE WHC title match to the upstart UK title match. Randy and Mahal better put on a clinic tonight to vindicate the Viper

Beyond the fact that it was a beautiful wrestling match between two very young and talented men, the match made me INSTANTLY care about the UK belt.
Note to the WWE main roster - THAT is how you get over a championship. My wife - a notorious tough sell on WWE product - called it the best match she's seen in five years. The combination of the NXT and Chicago crowds, Nigel/JR on the booth, Bate's fantastic heart, and Dunne's ruthless aggression made it a 5-star classic. Take any of those elements away and you get a solid, if not spectacular match.
