I don't understand why wrestlers from the UK have to be completely segregated from other wrestlers. But... They're getting the ball rolling on a UK show. And they did a good job of it. I understand the business incentive for a UK show but I'm more or less opposed to the idea of strictly limiting performers to certain divisions. My point was more that Bate and Dunne gave a tremendous showing of why their style is different, unlike '205' where they mostly wrestle like everyone else on the roster.

I've loved this weekend, getting to watch the UK special then seeing this match on NXT. Both Bates and Dunne totally blew me away in both there matches.

What we're seeing is the first steps of something a bit different from just divisions. If WWE manages to pull of what it appears they're working toward, there's going to be several "WWE"s worldwide, with very little interaction. UK (and likely a bit of the surrounding countries) will have one, India will have its own WWE promotion with its own roster, same with China, etc. There'll be some cross-pollination here and there and the big guns brought in for major US shows, but overall, it's a direction that isn't going to see a whole lot of that.

Honestly I still kind of question the logistics of it. A WWE-sized operation in countries all over the world, touring regularly and bringing in tons of money while having a constant flow of new Network content is an incredible idea in theory, but it seems all too easy for the novelty to wear off relatively quickly, for them to end up having too much overhead for it to actually get much of a return, or for them to start cannibalizing their subsidiaries because of people they want for the main roster.

Rewatched this match again for the third time. Man oh man the future is bright if the WWE invests long term in those two.

Maybe I have to watch it again. It seemed like a big spot fest where no one sold anything, which is pretty much the same as most modern day WWE main events. I don't know, maybe this is just a sign that I'm getting too old for this stuff, because the whole thing seemed like one big rehearsed dance. I prefer the big spectacle with a few high spots, selling, and a great story to sell the entire thing. One of my big complaints of modern day WWE is that it's really light on story and really heavy on flips and high risk stuff that doesn't end up meaning jack. And ratings back up what I'm saying, indy guys don't draw like the wrestlers of the 80's and 90's. For all the crap we give Vince, his larger than life stars of those eras were all bigger draws than the Bryan's, Punk's, and Style's of today. This match wasn't heavy on flips and high risk stuff though? I know but it comes off as a choreographed dance. Maybe it's just the style but it seems like they're working together rather than competing. I specifically remember the sequence where Bate did his rebound clothesline off the rope and that began with a stiff kick to the face by Dunne that was completely no-sold. If they had done half the spots and actually sold then I think the match would've been that much better.

How both Dunne and Bate performed in the match, I sense they are going to be fast tracked from the WWE UK roster to the main roster soon than expected. A true turning point in their WWE careers.

Just got done watching it and WOW. I haven't watched the U.K. tournament and this was my first time seeing either guy perform and I am impressed. They're both gonna be big stars for a long time.

Dunne is what you get if you combined William Regal and Arn Anderson.
A ruthless bastard who gets it done.

If you do get to the UK Tourney stuff, watch Dunne/Andrews. As much as the final was fun to watch, those two have AMAZING chemistry together for the difference in styles.

It was great, for sure. It's amazing that they are both so young and so good already.

I remember seeing Pete Dunne at BOLA and not really knowing much about him and within minutes he'd won me over. Since then I've seen him in person and in a load of other matches and I'm going to put it out there and say that right now he is the best in the world and by some margin.

I had never even heard of Pete Dunne before the UK Show. He pretty much became my favorite part of it by the time his first match was finished.

There's a punchline for this, but it ain't coming to me right now. It'd be 5 stars but it wasn't held in the American Legion Post #308 in Reseda, California? 😛
