I guess we could consider this humor. What do you mean? Well given that Orton and Cena have probably been in the main event scene since oh 2005 or so? And that their career have damaged other wrestlers' career and have hurt the product beyond belief because of their hugging the spotlight during all these years. I mean even the bully has to pick up the old lady grocery once in a while. Especially since Randy jobbing to Jinder will probably be a nothing event in the scheme of things and will be forgotten in a month when Randy takes the title back. I want to be selfless like that.

I dunno, sometimes Orton can be very quick to lay down for people or at least make them look good, sometimes you've got shit like when he was feuding with Cody and they refused to put the Intercontinental title on the line because Cody wasn't allowed to actually win any of the matches. Though granted that was followed up with that feud where Orton made Barrett look pretty good.

He gave an interview in 2006 saying he was aware he'd been fortunate in getting to WWE so easily and he wanted to be the guy to help others. He's stuck to it.

Damn 2006 I think it helps that he legit likes to work with the younger guys and while Cena has gotten the marquee matches over the time, Randy had them earlier in his career and doesn't mind focusing on the Rhodes, Barrets, Jinders of the world.

For all the attitude and discipline issues Orton has had in his career, he is someone you've never heard stories about being unwilling to put a guy over or do a job. Even with this feud, Jinder has gotten the better of Orton virtually the whole way. HEecost Orton the match with Bray. He's left him laying, taken the title, pinned Orton in a six man tag, and now beaten him for the title. Orton has been doing his best to help get Jinder over.

Orton has been given everything and never drawn a thing. He's not Hulk Hogan who has the drawing power to say I'm not losing to that guy.

In two tag team matches where Luke Harper could have eaten the pin, he took the falls to Chad Gable
So yeah, hard to deny.

Orton has no leverage, he's not talented or enough of a draw that he can threaten the WWE that he'll go elsewhere and make millions, so he does his job as long as the cheques clear.

I've often wondered if Randy is the type of guy that probably doesn't "love" being champion anymore. It means more work, more attention, more ... well, everything.
He got his "I'M THE CHAMPION WOOOO!" out of his system years ago. Now being the Champ is probably more of a hindrance to him than just being a high-on-the-card dude. Not that unlike HBK in the 2000's.

I guess, but he still gets Rumble wins and title runs.
I'd be selfless at my job too if I still get the largest benefits.

Would have been nice if he'd put anyone over in 2010.

Would have been nice if he'd put anyone over in 2010. He got pinned by DiBiase in the Elimination Chamber, lost cleanly to Jack Swagger at Extreme Rules, and lost to Miz (semi-cleanly) in a tables match.
