That was a really anti-climactic finale. I guess since I read a spoiler three months ago I kinda ruined it for myself. Thank the Maker the war is over and hopefully the show can move on to something more entertaining next season. I don't think the war lived up to a quarter of what people thought it would. It may have killed the show.
And we're seriously moving on to a Maggie, Jesus and Darryl heel faction? My face is already in my palms. I've heard Laruen Cohan (Maggie) may be leaving the show so I maybe that's how she gets written out.
The spoilers I read did say Tara died before the season was over so I guess that didn’t happen.
Overall the season was “whatever”. It wasn’t as bad as last year (obviously) and that's how it will be remembered. Now people can get to sitting on their hands waiting for the Whisperers to show up, just like they were three seasons ago with Negan. Hopefully it turns out better.
As for Fear the Walking Dead: I didn’t care for the crossover at the beginning. I liked the shows being two separate entities held together by a few common threads. But the beginning of this episode should have been included in some of the later episodes of the main show the last few weeks. Maybe it would’ve meant more to see all those characters pleading with Morgan if there’d have been a few weeks between the two episodes too. I just saw Rick win that emotional war. I'd rather it sink in for a whole before I saw him.
Once they got passed that though I thought the episode was pretty awesome. Bad idea putting it right after the main show because it showed how much better Feath the Walking Dead has become.
Not sure how I feel about Morgan on the show. He'd kinda become played out but maybe a new environment will freshen him up. And I didn't really care for the two year time-skip but the initial chaos of the breakout had already set in with Fear the Walking Dead already. Clint Eastwood was pretty cool.
Unlike the Walking Dead I really want to see where this one goes and I'm looking forward to next weeks episode.
[note] is there going to be an official Fear the Walking Dead thread?

I already created a Fear thread officialfan.proboards.com/thread/572740/fear-walking-dead-season-thread?page=1&scrollTo=14028389In regards to Maggie, Daryl, Jesus heel turn, I think this is just a way to write Maggie out. I can't see Darly (who just let Dwight go) and Jesus (lecturing Morgan about not killing humans on the field) would want to kill Rick or Michonne and in Jesus case would want to kill anyone including Negan

First time season ended on a more "upbeat" note since like Season 4 Wonder if we will get the time skip next season I think you're thinking of Season Three, when they took in all the refugees from Woodbury. Season Four ended with them in a shipping container about to get cannibalized

Were all the visions of Old Rick at the beginning of the season ever touched on? I’m guessing now it was Carl’s visions of the future?

I don't know what Maggie has in mind but I'd like to think in Daryl's case he just wants to show Rick he was wrong. I think or at least hope that didn't mean kill him. Hell Maggie should be more pissed at Daryl. Rick let Negan live but Daryl is why Glenn died anyway.

Where the hell was anyone I recognize? Didn't last season of Ftwd end with the dam exploding??!! We got NOTHING from it unless I missed something. I gave up and quit paying attention.

Nice twist with Maggie's heel turn. A civil war should be fun.

Nice twist with Maggie's heel turn. A civil war should be fun. As I said before I think this is just a way to write Maggie out if Lauren and them don’t figure out her contract status. Just seems like a big leap for Jesus and Daryl somewhat to be mad about Rick keeping Negan alive However, this could be a way for them to transition Negan as Rick’s new right hand man. This is vastly different from the comics considering Rick isn’t crippled and Carl is dead

Okie dokie
All in all I have to say I've actually really enjoyed this Season.
I think the Final episode perhaps could have had more but all in all it wrapped up the war and left us some questions for Season 9.
As predicted Rick ends up slitting Negans throat however doesn't have his leg broken like he had in the comics.
Good to see Eugene redeem himself though he did deserve that punch from Rosita ;D
Very interesting angle to see where they are going with Maggie especially with Jesus and Daryl... In a way you can't blame her.. This is the guy who bashed her husbands skull in with a barbed wire baseball bat.
It's almost like they are going a completely new angle for Season 9 and perhaps breaking away from the comics.
It's strange now that Carl is no longer apart of the show and considering he still plays a very big role in the comics after this point.
Will we see the Whisperers is Season 9?.. Who knows.
Good season and now we have to wait 6 months for it all to start again >.<

Personally I hope they trim The Whisperers arc, make them a secondary/filler threat similar to the Wolves or the hospital people.
I found the Whisperer story a bit boring. Dull villain, dragged on too much.

Dull villain, dragged on too much. The most interesting parts of the Whisperers storyline included Carl. So I don't see how it would work without dramatic changes from the comic. And with the lackluster way he ended it, I think even Robert Kirkman was tired of the Whisperers and just wanted to move on to the next storyline.

I hope they appear but either as a mini arc or, as a sort of background menace with the focus been Maggie and Rick's tensions. I'm really looking forward to where they go with Maggie. I'm disappointed she didn't do much in the comics when Rick spared Negan tbh, so this is a good direction to go with her character.

Like I said before my guess is they cut out Lydia and a lot of the other stuff and just go straight into the whispers being a threat. Rick isn’t crippled so he will probably get Carl’s role as far as being close to Negan Whispers should be resolved in this one season and don’t need to be dragged longer than that.

There’ll be a half season lull at least. They can’t not do the Pike scene. That should be the last shot of a mid season finale or even better then end of season nine. It’s just what they do to get there. I guess more Wolves/Terminites/Claimers

Maybe a murderer in the group, a disease where Rick needs to deal with it, maybe even add a new way for people to get infected (Rats that have ate the dead now been carriers of the zombie disease maybe?) For the group to deal with until the impaling.

Like was said before maybe do a plague like epidemic again or something else to rehash until they get to the whispers

Remember that Dumbass Henry can fill the Carl role. Him being "Dumbass Henry" is canon.

Remember that Dumbass Henry can fill the Carl role. Him being "Dumbass Henry" is canon. They seemed to kind of play him up tho. He never got any other shining moment besides shooting the guy and they didn't really feature him in the Finale like you would think someone like him who they may have future plans for They will probably try to find Henry somewhere tho but like I said they might as well give Rick all of Carls interactions with Negan. They can bond over Carl but still have that hatred/weird respect for each other
