What exactly is they company trying to claim that they own? There has to be something specific to a gimmick for it to be owned by the company (being based on an occupation, for example, like WWE has done) or a specific look (like Undertaker has). Acting odd is way too vague of a character to be owned by anyone.

So, let's review. His offer was "Pay us 15,000 bucks, and then we want 50 percent of whatever money Jeff makes from art or music or anything else, and you can use the gimmick that you came up with and then paid for whiel you worked for us and for which you were not compensated for the production costs", and when they said, shockingly, "screw that" he's done negotiating.

Basically because it was aired on their show after the Hardys have taped and edited it using their own time and money to do so, they believe that they own it and all the rights to the names and characters. There's a word to describe this guy, as well as Jarrett also and that's Jackass

It's just Matt and Jeff acting weird. At best, Anthem could maybe stop WWE from using the term "broken," but that's about it.

I really want to know what the f*** this guy expects to accomplish. They're not going to make any money off of it because they can't use the gimmick themselves and the Hardys aren't going to be dumb enough to agree to their insane terms. They're not accomplishing anything keeping WWE from making money off of it, because it's not like the Broken gimmick will make or break them and even if it would GFW has nothing at all to gain from WWE suffering because they're nowhere remotely close to the same ballpark and never will be. They're just torching a bridge and making themselves look like gigantic assholes.

The more I hear about this guy, the more I think he and Martin Shkreli were buddies growing up.

If I'm an unsigned guy why would I go to TNA were not only I have to pay them for my outside bookings but the owner goes on the record and tries to destroy my reputation?
It's just not worth it.

He's also said on numerous occasions that he wasn't going to talk about it in the media any more.
Say what you will but this guy is perfect for the wrestling business. Even Vince has to be impressed.

Which is especially funny because they've done just about all of the catchphrases and gestures of the Broken characters on WWE TV and the first thing Cole said when they returned was "Things are about to be broken".

I'm waiting for the Hardys to just debut a long-lost (kayfabe) brother named Ken Hardy, who's constantly referred to by Matt as "Brother Ken" (think about it).

Ed Nordholm is the most inspiring negotiator ever.
One time I was trying to sell a bike and a nice old man gave me a reasonable offer, but I consulted with Ed, and immediately knew that the right thing to do was only give him the bike if he sold me his entire family.

My guess is that anyone who comes in now are really desperate for the exposure, even if it's a far cry from its million viewers a week prime. It's such a bad case of really desperate people being exploited, all wrestlers should cut pre-match promos while sitting on a couch being interviewed by a guy holding a handheld camcorder.

Trust me, when the Impact TV contract expires and it's time for GFW to shop Impact for another network to increase TV ad revenue - which is to my understanding inexistent at the moment with POP TV -, Ed Nordholm & the rest of Anthem management will sorely regret to have the public opinion against them. How can they expect a TV network to legit trust them if they see the whole thing unravel on social media like it has gone right now? It should've been settled a long time ago by any competent entity. The longer this drags out, the worse for wear GFW will come out of this and they'll be dead meat when renewal comes up for Impact.

I've never seen a company be defensive and territorial over something that's completely vague and, to this day, they still don't have the official paperwork to say they officially own it.
It's like if instead of letting Double Fine have the licence to do the Full Throttle, Day of the Tentacle and Grim Fandango Remastered, Disney made ridiculous deals to use them and when that goes out, Bob Iger throws a strop to the media and says he never wants to talk about video games again. Except in that case, Disney actually OWN all that stuff.

What is his plan? Does he think Matt will just kinda give up on it?
Because that plan depends on Matt being an impatient man who can't accomplish things through spite, and that's not a great strategy. I don't even say that as an insult, but Matt is a determined guy from pretty much any perspective of him.

What is his plan? Does he think Matt will just kinda give up on it? Honestly? I think they wanted WWE to be giving them money instead of the Hardys. By all accounts, the WWE's only given them the legal team to help with things and not actually take control of the situation and it'll be the Hardys getting the gimmick and not WWE. They probably thought that WWE would step in, hand them a bunch of money and they can profit off the gimmick in some way without having Matt or Reby involved in the process. I could be completely wrong but that's how its coming off to me, especially with the deal being firmly in place and then yanked away before Ed's signature can be put down.

Why negotiate when you can make ZERO dollars and also generate ill will with other wrestlers and with fans online?
