If I'm an unsigned guy why would I go to TNA were not only I have to pay them for my outside bookings but the owner goes on the record and tries to destroy my reputation? It's just not worth it. It is a chance to get exposed to a bigger audience. Look at Jax Dane. He was NWA world champ for a long period, but more people know who he is now cause he was on Impact. Lots of wrestling fans are not reading/posting at forums. Or hell even part of wrestling groups on FB. Go-to a wrestling show and ask the 20 nearest fans, I bet at most 4 posts on wrestling forums. Plus someone like Jax Dane can now use the fact that he is/was on tv to get more money from Indy bookings A few years back Powerslam Productions ran two shows at a bar in Hattiesburg. The first show had Doc Gallows, right after he left TNA and before he got big in NJPW, and Taryn Terrel. That show drew right at 350 people. Talking to the crowd and most of them came cause of Doc and TAryn. 2 months later they ran another show at the same bar. And drew about 100. The only name on the second show was Luke Hawx. Us fans that post at forums make up maybe 20% of the audience that watches wrestling each week. If 300,000 people are watching TNA from the TV Guide channel, that's not really all that helpful to anyone, I doubt he's going to be making a premium off of indie bookings with that, and oh wait TNA gets 10% of all his bookings anyway so fat load of good that does for him. Exposure isn't worth shit in any line of work, but in wrestling you can't get much from a show nobody f***ing watches. Especially if New TNA is the kind of company where you run a very real chance of having its president just publicly release your contract or slander you to the dirtsheets, is the risk and wage theft really f***ing worth it?
