The hilarious part in all of this is that I know some people - actually a former TNA employee I'm friends with on Facebook - who claims that GFW & Anthem are 100% in the right and that the Hardys have no case whatsoever. I tried to explain to him time and time again that it's just a PR disaster for them but he doesn't seem to care and is sticking with Anthem's POV.
I'm praying that Reby is right and they did record Matt & Ed Nordholm's phone conversation just to see them squirm and literally lose everything. They'll have deserved it.

Try and ask them where the logic is in working out a settlement with the Hardys to get money for the gimmick, and then deciding "No actually f*** you give us 50% of your life if you want it so bad". Then ask Ed Nordholm why he's making sockpuppet Facebook accounts.

I don't understand what TNA/GFW are trying to do here. Even if they're 100% in the right and they own the gimmick totally, the way they're handling it is making them look horrible. Nobody is going to care if they have the legal high ground if they're acting like dicks about it. I know the TNA offices are basically just a couple of guys in a warehouse, but they need PR people yesterday.

Ed Nordholm : Such a pointy-headed idiot that he managed to generate sympathy for a man WHO FAKED HIS OWN SUICIDE FOR ATTENTION and his loudmouth wife who can't go 3 words without swearing.

TNAFW's handling of the Hardy's from the contract negotiations onward is just bewildering. Jeff is one of the few legit stars that they ever had and the Broken Hardy's are one of the most entertaining things ever in TNA the classy thing to do would be to quietly let them do their thing and hope to work with them again in the future, but I'm pretty sure that Nordholm is some sort of Dixie Carter/Dr. Evil hybrid.

The longer they wait and drag out this idiocy, the less valuable the gimmick will be to both parties.

What is his plan? Does he think Matt will just kinda give up on it? Honestly? I think they wanted WWE to be giving them money instead of the Hardys. By all accounts, the WWE's only given them the legal team to help with things and not actually take control of the situation and it'll be the Hardys getting the gimmick and not WWE. They probably thought that WWE would step in, hand them a bunch of money and they can profit off the gimmick in some way without having Matt or Reby involved in the process. I could be completely wrong but that's how its coming off to me, especially with the deal being firmly in place and then yanked away before Ed's signature can be put down. right??? It's one of the most poorly thought out ransom attempts I've ever seen. That's the whole point though. I think TNAGFW is doing this not because they think they can WIN the lawsuit when it comes to it, but rather that TNAGFW is doing it because TNAGFW WANTS TO LOSE the lawsuit. It makes more sense for why, and why WWE isn't having it. WWE is smart enough to know damn well the outcome for both in TNAGFW's hands. If GFW wins the lawsuit, they get: A universe of footage they already have, and can't do more with. If GFW LOSES the lawsuit? They lose the rights to the Brokenverse and lose these gimmicks to the Hardy Boyz... ...but in exchange? They just got legal precedent saying that a wrestler owns the rights to a gimmick they worked with under contract to a promotion. GFW would have the floodgates open for them- from there on out, GFW could hire any and every WWE castoff they want, and get to use them under their WWE gimmicks instead of a rename or slight change to the gimmick, and if WWE ever complains, GFW can simply say "Well, you fought and, under law, proved that the wrestler also owns their gimmick- so if you can have the Broken Hardyz, that means we can have Jack Swagger/John Morrison/insert other signings TNAGFW get"... GFW gets more benefits from this case if they lose the lawsuit with WWE or the Hardyz than they ever could winning- and that's clearly why WWE isn't going to fight the lawsuit for the Hardys. No they wouldn't. Because the WWE has it written in their contracts that they own the gimmicks they come up with. THAT WAS NOT ON TEH CONTRACT THE HARDY'S SIGNED. As well as WWE talent doesn't usually film on their personal property, with their creative freedom, using THEIR MONEY to do so. and even if for some outlandish reason they did, WWE would own everything, and the people involved would have been reimbursed.

What's odd is, Ed is going beyond where Dixie ever did. Oh, Dixie wanted a cut of outside bookings, more than half. Ed said "Oh, ok, so what we'll ask for is all of the merch money that fans buy, and from the Hardys, we want a lump sum payment plus a contract that gives us half of whatever Jeff makes off of his art and music". Hell, I'm waiting for Ed to up it and say, hey, since someone not under contract to them or paid by them was in the Broken stuff, that they want half of whatever money HE makes in his day job.
Sadly, I'm only half kidding. I can see them giong that far.

So legally, could WWE have Matt and Jeff go full broken on WWE TV? I mean from the sounds of it, TNAGFW don't have anything resembling legal paperwork or copyright, it's just 'this aired on TV so we own it'. I mean any court is gonna rule in favor or the Hardys because they actually have documents..TNAGFW is basically just going "nuh huh gimme WWE monies". That's the whole point though. I think TNAGFW is doing this not because they think they can WIN the lawsuit when it comes to it, but rather that TNAGFW is doing it because TNAGFW WANTS TO LOSE the lawsuit. I honestly think you may be giving them too much credit here.

If I'm an unsigned guy why would I go to TNA were not only I have to pay them for my outside bookings but the owner goes on the record and tries to destroy my reputation? It's just not worth it. It is a chance to get exposed to a bigger audience. Look at Jax Dane. He was NWA world champ for a long period, but more people know who he is now cause he was on Impact. Lots of wrestling fans are not reading/posting at forums. Or hell even part of wrestling groups on FB. Go-to a wrestling show and ask the 20 nearest fans, I bet at most 4 posts on wrestling forums. Plus someone like Jax Dane can now use the fact that he is/was on tv to get more money from Indy bookings A few years back Powerslam Productions ran two shows at a bar in Hattiesburg. The first show had Doc Gallows, right after he left TNA and before he got big in NJPW, and Taryn Terrel. That show drew right at 350 people. Talking to the crowd and most of them came cause of Doc and TAryn. 2 months later they ran another show at the same bar. And drew about 100. The only name on the second show was Luke Hawx. Us fans that post at forums make up maybe 20% of the audience that watches wrestling each week.

And Gallows left tna when they were in SPIKE not in the f***ing TV guide channel. True Jax Dane is known by more people but that doesn't translate into bigger paychecks. He has to pay tna for working indies and he has to pay tna for every shirt he sales. Working in tna is only for the desperate.

Nordholm's not angling for a payday on this anymore, folks. What we're seeing is him attempting to sandbag the situation since he now knows he can't win it. He couldn't get the money demands he wanted, he's learned he is likely to lose any sort of claim to the stuff, so he's shutting down just so the whole thing will slow to a crawl and grind the whole thing. And Gallows left tna when they were in SPIKE not in the f***ing TV guide channel. Not to mention he wasn't far removed from a 3-and-a-half-years run in WWE on worldwide TV. If those extra 250 people came to see Gallows, I can guarantee 200 of them were because they knew his name from WWE, not as Aces & Eights Member #278
