About halfway through the series so far. Really enjoying it. Better paced then most of the Marvel shows, interesting characters, coherent story, no f***ing Hand, can't really ask for much more

Just finished it last night, and I really enjoyed the full series. It's easily the best structured of the Marvel Netflix offerings, with no pointless episodes or boring subplots. The subplots we do get are very interesting, and one in particular feels like an incredibly relevant social commentary.
As for the cast, they're phenomenal. It goes without saying that Jon Bernthal has perfected Frank Castle, but everyone else is great here too. I wasn't sure about the casting of Micro due to the character typically being portrayed as a short fat guy, but man was he great. A real standout supporting character. I also thought Ben Barnes was fantastic as this reimagined take on Billy Russo. My favorite support character though had to be Curtis. I thought the actor brought so much heart and believability to the part. I genuinely enjoyed all of his scenes.

I liked it quite a bit. I definitely agree that Jon Bernthal IS Frank Castle. And the supporting cast also did a fine job. I particularly felt Frank’s interactions with the Liebermans did a good job of helping humanize him.

The subplots were good to me because of what they were. Of course any subplot could be tighter and paced a bit better, but with 13 shows any small flaw can be magnified. I'm interested to see where they go from here. With the Netfilx shows you can't go into next year without acknowledging the magnitude of the fallout that Infinity Wars will bring.

I think this is my second favourite of the Netflix shows after Season 1 of Daredevil. I liked how they managed to introduced three seemingly separate plots with Frank, Dinah and Louis and gradually pulled them together. Micro was a great sidekick, without having to becoming annoying (ala Froggy from DD). Berthanal really has the tortured soul character play down pat. The added human elements with Micro's family also really helped make Punisher a more relatable and likable character. The villains were also some of the stronger offerings from this franchise too. Their motivations were clear, and they came off as effective antagonists without crossing the camp line or becoming one note. I wasn't really sure what to expect from it, but I'm very happy with what they gave us.
Though if I'm critical of one thing, I really could have done without the clunky political gun control debate stuff. The show was doing fine without it.

I'm glad Punisher didn't get cancelled with the rest of them. Too much potential.

I always kind of considered giving the series a look - only one of the Marvel shows I can say that about - but never actually done so. I guess on the verge of season two would be a good time to do so, but it's kind of hard to really want to bother with how obvious it is the show's just going to be cancelled as soon as the season's out anyway.

After binge watching it all day yesterday i'm of two minds, this is a really good show and probably Marvel best season from beginning to end as they continue the story at a really good pace and their isn't any fall off like for example Luke Cage in its 2nd half
However, because it is a good show i'm going to be said when season 2 gets eventually cancelled. Jon Berenthal is Frank Castle and I would love to see portray him in everything Punisher now. The actions and characters alone are worth giving this a watch but it is understandable if you don't want to watch it because you will be sad it's getting cancelled
Characters like The Punisher and Wilton Fisk deserve to be in the movies because they add a lot of depth

D'Onofrio has stated that he wants to continue playing Fisk in the movies. He's said he wants to bring The Kingpin into a Spider-Man film

Bring him and Berenthal back to Punisher which would make Spiderman a little darker but then again after what happened in Infinity War that would fit the tone tho Punisher is too violent for the movies probably
They had a good medium with the more "extreme" approach on Netflix and how they conducted the movies. You can bring down Fisk a bit and still make him threatening but idk how you bring down Punisher without neutering him but then again you could focus more on him being a massive asshole with his smart remarks

Well like they've said regarding Deadpool, if they do make Punisher films, they'll likely keep it R Rated

Either way, yeah that's the correct route tho even with that said you don't need Deadpool R rated to put into the universe but they have been a success making an R rated film and i'm sure Reynolds likes that freedom
