{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}Not sure why everyone is complaining about “talking zombies” when they’re very obviously The Whisperers from the comic books. That group use the walkers skin to disguise themselves. People don't know that tho
It's a good hook if you know shit all about things to come
{Spoiler}Yeah I get that but people saying the shows gone to hell or they’re never watching again because of “talking zombies” is silly because The Whisperers are part of the story...

Some people are going to be like Holy F*** they can talk? While others are going to say this is stupid. Hopefully, they don't play it up too long but we can assume the pikes on a head scene happens midseason and we get Alpha emerging as the new big bad
{Spoiler} Hopefully, they break out the formula of everything happening midseason or end of season. With Rick leaving episode 5 that gives me hope they will break that formula. Negan shouldn't have to wait until the finale to kill Alpha, that should happen a few episodes before {Spoiler}

1. Who decided that giving Carol a terrible wig was a good idea? 2. The new leader of Hilltop better not be who I dread it’s going to be {Spoiler}Enid 3. How stupid are these people that almost ten years into the apocalypse they haven’t been able to rebuild more than a few windmills? 4. Hopefully there’s another time skip next week and they’ve found a Judith that can act. 5. All I see when I see Dan Fogler is stupid movies like Balls of Fury 6. How did Carol get freed

I hate Henry.
He like has all the worse traits of a teenager -- whiny, self-centered, doesn't listen, a moron. Which makes for really enjoyable television.
Carol's new wig looks terrible. Like a cat lady.
Magna is a moron "Let's all us unarmed people including a music teacher, a journalist and someone in hospital fight an entire town that contains a Samurai, a bunch of badasses who just saved our necks armed to teeth with guns, and a 9 year old kid who can split a zombie's head from a hundred yards" Great plan, Magna.
I hate Henry. I hope he ends up getting you know whatted. I disliked him when he was a little obnoxious kid who did stupid things. Now he's a big obnoxious kid who does stupid things.
If Enid is leader of Hill Top I'm gonna face palm so hard it will leave a welt.

I have been a Walking Dead fan since the start of the comic book.
I couldn't even finish this episode. I hated pretty much everything about it. Im done.

Things I enjoyed about the episode... - Judith and Negan’s chat - Magna - Carol being a badass again - The Whisperers Things I didn’t like about the episode... - Henry. Ugh... Why not just keep Carl alive? And why is he calling Carol and Ezekiel “Mom and Dad”? Like, I guess it makes sense for Judith to call Michonne that... but Henry was at least 7 or 8 before this week. {Spoiler}Plus you just know he’s going to get Carl’s entire character arc from the Whisperers story, the whole falling for Lydia and being the reason Alpha even shows up... which makes it even worse. This should be Carl’s story. - Enid better not be the new leader of Hilltop. That would be stupid. - Gabriel and Rosita... WTF? 2 weeks ago they blew my mind with Gabriel and Jadis and now I’m supposed to believe Rosita has the hots for him? Okay... I know it’s been 6 years and all that but this just isn’t believable. I could buy Rosita and Eugene being married like they are in the comics... I mean they have history together. But Gabriel? Come on. Hopefully this is just a plot device to get Eugene and Rosita together. - Michonne’s new kid. Okay... I’ll just start off by saying I was never a fan of Michonne/Rick as a couple. For me Michonne works better as a lone badass. It was a mistake putting her and Rick together as a couple IMO. I’m not a fan of Rick having a new son and being tied to Michonne. Andrea would have been perfect and they made a massive mistake killing her off. I just can’t buy Rick and Michonne as a couple cause they have no chemistry IMO. Moving on... has anyone died off screen in the 6 years that have passed? I mean we haven’t seen Tara or Enid yet. But surely some of them have died during this time.

I loved the last episode, I thought it was even better than last week in some ways.
I liked how Magna's group was introduced and the dynamic with Magna and Michonne. And I think the actress playing Judith is doing a good job.
Hopefully Magna & co. are given more to do than in the comics.
I wonder how Michonne got that "x" on her back?
The scene with Rosita and Eugene with the "talking walkers" would've been more impactful if it hadn't been featured in the trailer.
I think Tara or perhaps Tammy Rose will be the new leader at Hilltop.
And it seems clear that Henry will be getting much of Carl's comic book storyline, with him going off to be Earl's blacksmith apprentice at the Hilltop.

Hope Henry doesn't take Carl's place.
I want him to take... A different role in the story.

With Rick gone Daryl and Carol are now the only Season 1 Characters left..
Technically Morgan is still around but he is MIA at this time.
I see Aron now has the Rick Grimes look from post Negan war..
Eugene is no longer a coward and seemed to deal with walkers pretty well.
Speaking of Carol that long hair she now has just makes me think of her as a Lord of the Rings type character ;D
I'm not to sure about Judith yet, She seems somewhat annoying at this point.
I'm interested to see where they go with this Post Rick Grimes era of walking dead.

I’m not a comic book reader, so my only familiarity with the new characters comes from reading the Walking Dead wiki, and from playing the Walking Dead Road to Survival game. I hope Yumiko is as much of a badass in the show as she is in the game.
I hadn’t really put much thought into who the new leader of the Hilltop is, but I did notice Alanna Masterson has fourth billing in the credits now, so Tara would be a pretty solid guess. I don’t know how or if that would work, but that’s what I’m thinking at the moment. Tammy could also be a solid guess, and would make so sense if later events come to pass like they do in the books.
Loved the Judith and Negan dynamic. Negan benefits from the time jump more than just about anyone.
I wasn’t nearly as negative about the episode as everyone else. Henry is getting a weirdly intense amount of hatred, and while yeah... he was kind of obnoxious, it wasn’t THAT bad. He’s not Olly at least. People hate teenagers in these shows, but it’s pretty unrealistic to expect teens not to be assholes from time to time.

They seem to be giving Henry the coming of age Carl story while giving Judith the story Carl would have had with Negan as well

It wasn’t a bad episode but things are feeling less organic to me. When Carol goes to see Daryl am I supposed to feel like it’s a big deal? We don’t know how long it’s been since they’ve seen each other due to the time jump. This is also the second recent time jump so it feels like if there’s a problem with the show that they’ll just speed it up and throw some twists at you to make you curious about what’s going on rather than focusing on more quality story building like they have in earlier seasons. I’m split on Judith. She has some good interactions but some of them don’t feel organic either. We get this all new scenario and the season is almost over. There’s some good stuff scattered about but the show just feels like a mess. I guess we’ll see what happens with it.

I thought it was a pretty good episode, Season 9 has very watchable so far, even without Rick on the show.
Not sold on Henry as of yet, Judith is okay so far.
I do wonder where Michonne got that "X" scar from.

Didn't think a episode would top the one where Rick "dies". But this week's was great. The show has been needing a change . As for all the talk about the show dying.... it is still the biggest rating draw on AMC.
I doubt the show ends in the next 3 years. I do see them merging FTWD with the original show in a few years.

Yea, Rick not dying and the show getting a fresh shot in the arm has really helped it
I assumed they would finish the show off next season due to Rick leaving but they obviously have future plans with the cast and Rick getting his own show so yeah it's not ending any time soon
Also while the ratings are no doubt going down, it's still a top show for AMC and you got to remember the show at its most popular was going head to head with Sunday Night Football and doing just as good if not better. It's not those times anymore but they still have a dedicated audience and a big one

I do wonder if AMC gets a cut of the merch sales. If so they are making lots of money off the show.

AMC is still sitting on a nice bank with the Walking Dead franchise. Giving Rick his own TV movies is def a big step
I still wish they do the HBO 10 episode type run with this show to cut the filler but they are doing just fine way they are and seemingly eager to bring the show back to its previous heights with the show not centered around Rick anymore
They have seemingly beaten Kirkman to the punch though with everyone will die before this show/comic ends.
