Yep, that is 100 times better then Jared Leto's excuse of the Joker. Any chance we get a Harley Quinn that doesn't look like a Stripper in the Crack Neighborhood? Probably no dice in this flick. But hey if recent rumors are to be believed, Stripper in a cracked our neighborhood Harley Quinn and shops-at-hot-topic-Ima-be-a-f***ing-douche-in-real-life-Leto Joker are primed to return in their own thing. A "cross between Bad Santa and This Is Us", no less. And a Leto-produced solo Joker movie, too. Of course, this being DC, confirmation that these movies are happening means almost nothing.

Eh. I hope it’s good. But if it is, and it’s a success, what does that mean for the DCCU and comic book movies at large? Success of TDK already cursed a lot of films with the “dark is what people want!” idea. The word "dark" has lost all meaning to describe a film. We don't even know how serious, or funny this film will be. They seem to be veering towards the stand-up approach by all the casting and Phillips himself has comedy as his M.O. TDK didn't "curse" anything. Marvel found a successful approach and D.C. Has been stumbling mainly cause of Snyder. That's it. If ANY influence comes out of this it might be to focus more on stand alone Elseworld stories that don't hinge on a cinematic universe. Which, for D.C., right now, sounds awesome. Yes, Elseworlds DC feature films would be an amazing way to differentiate. Give me Gotham by Gaslight with Batman tracking down Jack The Ripper(Read: Victorian Joker), with a mild steampunk aesthetic. Give me Wonder Woman across different eras of history since she emerged in WWI. Give me Red Son Superman. THAT would be fun as hell.

First impressions -
Ehh...I'm not a fan of the look.
It's too on the nose for me and why is he wearing red instead of purple?
Say what you want about Heath, at least he got the basic things right, i.e no goofy eyebrows or red nose and wore purple.
That being said...I'll judge the actual performance accordingly upon release.
The look may be weird but he could give an awesome performance, but that's what was said about about Not The Guy From Subway and look how that went.

The brightly colored suit actually gives me hope. This looks like it's gonna be a gritty, street level crime setting, but won't be avoiding the fact that it has comic book origin. This Joker does look more like the original than Ledger.

This honestly might be awesome. Eh, Looks too much like a psycho Ronald McDonald's to me. I find the extra clown face paint a bit unessecary truth be told.

Oh my god....DC have re-discovered colour!
I presume the additional make up is part of a scene where he disguises himself as a generic clown, perhaps at a children's birthday party where he threatens to unleash Smilex on the terrified guests.

That will be the look. Why is everyone so sure its just a scene. It matches the screen test. Its an "origin" tale.

This could be the actual look or he could end up looking different. Maybe there's a vat of chemicals, maybe there isn't. I guess people doubt cause the look is quite restrained. Which again, I'm alright with. I get that the look is a big thing when it comes to the character, however even with the looks of Romero, Nicholson, and Ledger (I guess mark too) being awesome, it was the respective performances that made them each iconic. On the counter side, even as shitty as Jareds look was, there could of been a good performance; There just wasn't.

The suit is nice, I still wish he had the traditional makeup.

Batman Begins, an origin story, Has Batman slowly tweaking and changing his costume so it's not a stretch for it to happen.

If they don't play "Tears of a Clown" by Smokey Robinson and the Miracles at some point during this movie I'm going to be very disappointed.
