The tough guy Billy Big Balls manager type doesn't work anymore, especially with players making hundreds of thousands of pounds every week who can simply down tools and get rid of a problematic manager like Mourinho, Managers have to be more sophisticated father figures who will hug and coddle their players to get the best out of them, like Klopp, Poch, and Pep. Yeah, I think a lot of people have it in their head that Fergie was some untouchable, "my way or the highway" tyrant based on a couple of incidents and the "hairdryer" treatment and that's what they need. Forgetting that the est of the time he was very much a father figure, personally checking in with players, handling youngsters coming through with kid gloves until they were ready etc. The "hard man" managers seem to be consigned to the lower leagues nowadays. Some of them occasionally rise as high as the Championship, but even at that level now players won't tolerate that kind of management style. I remember big things being expected from Roy Keane, seeing him as some sort of kindred spirit to Ferguson who would inspire his teams in much the same way. Obviously we soon found out that all Keane had as a boss was the same temper and poor judgement that saw him exiled from both Ireland and United.

Chelsea have moved quickly in the January transfer window signing Christian Pulisic from Dortmund for £58 million.
But they've loaned him back to Dortmund for the rest of the season.

Hudson-Odoi has made ten appearances at senior level, with more than half of those as a substitute. £30 million. Crazy. I'm assuming he was amazing at youth and reserve level and Bayern think he's going to be as good as Sancho is at Dortmund. Which begs the question why isn't he playing more for Chelsea then? Or do Chelsea just have a 'No young players from our academy are allowed to play for the first team!' rule.

I wouldn't bother asking the question of Chelsea, though. This is the same club that farms out 50+ young players on loan per season and uses the money gained from that to buy players for the first team.

Neil Warnock has accused Liverpool and Nathaniel Clyne of lacking class as they supposedly agreed Clyne would join Cardiff.
How's that glass house of yours, Neil?
