While I do enjoy a title race as much as anyone, any football fan telling you they don't enjoy winning all the time is telling you a lie. And if you got your dream job, unless the situation descends to CM Punk level of just outright frustration, you don't walk out the way he did. Dream job or not, I think it comes down to the fact that the Celtic job doesn't improve his reputation after a certain point, and it's not as if there's a challenge for him there. He's won everything there is to win in Scotland and he's done it blindfolded with one arm tied behind his back. Sure, his exit hasn't been the most loyal of things, but loyalty in football is a quaint concept. Claudio Ranieri was fired today after less than 20 games in charge. Ten games without a win and Rodgers himself may have found himself out of a job. Rodgers was indeed backed in the transfer market, he bought 26 players and there's only a few of them I would consider successes: Moussa Dembele, Scott Sinclair, Olivier Ntcham, Odsonne Edouard and Filip Benkovic (who was a loan signing). The rest were dreck or didn't live up to expectations. The majority of his Celtic team were there under Ronny Deila. The only way Rodgers would get the sack is if he lost the league which was unlikely. Even if the Leicester job went to someone else, I guarantee Rodgers would've got another job in England easily because he still has a good reputation as a brilliant coach down south even if he's seen as a joke figure by the EPL fanbase. And to compare Ranieri to Rodgers, you have Ranieri turning up at Fulham training today to say his goodbyes and wish them luck for the remainder of the campaign. Rodgers didn't even say goodbye to his players or let them know he was even talking to Leicester. That says it all.

Red Bulls open their season with a 1-1 draw against Columbus. Not bad considering most of their starters were being rested for the Champions League.
This is the first season I'm gonna follow RBNY from start to finish. Hope this is finally the season they win the MLS Cup.

If we get to ruin Rodgers big day, that would be the perfect balm for our recent thrashing.

Draws will cost Liverpool the title this year, as it did in 2009.

Beginning next season, five new rules come into effect:
1. Goals scored via accidental handball will be disallowed.
2. All penalties will operate under shoot-out conditions: no rebounds.
3. Substituted players must leave the pitch at the nearest point.
4. No attacking players in defensive walls at free kicks; attacking players must be no closer than one metre from the wall.
5. Coaches will receive yellow and red cards for misconduct during matches. As with players, cards will stack over the course of the season and lead to suspensions.

I don’t have a problem with any of those rules except for the no rebounds on a penalty rule. That’s f***ing stupid, if a keeper saves a free kick the ball is still in play, why should penalties be different?

VAR frustrating again but Ajax are 3 up at Real Madrid. Is Real Madrid’s dominance of the Champs Lge about to end?

After the whole money explosion, can this be the biggest upset of modern times?
I hope Ajax wins it all.

I’m sorry I meant to say in an elimination series, although if Ajax were to win it all I think it would surpass what Leicester did. Ajax has way way way less money than the rest of the champions contenders and pretty much will have to sell their players at the end of the season. f*** De Jeong is already Barcelona bound lol.
