Leicester winning the Premier League is still miles ahead of just about anything in sports, not just football. I’m sorry I meant to say in an elimination series, although if Ajax were to win it all I think it would surpass what Leicester did. Ajax has way way way less money than the rest of the champions contenders and pretty much will have to sell their players at the end of the season. f*** De Jeong is already Barcelona bound lol. There were better odds on Elvis being found alive than Leicester winning the league. Leicester started the season favourites to be relegated and lost their Manager before the start of the season as his son (a Leicester player) was involved in a racist sex tape filmed during a Leicester City foreign trip. The club was at absolute rock bottom and the way it looked on the first day of the season, them avoiding relegation would have been a big upset on its own. Ajax winning would be a surprise, a big surprise but not even in the same ball park as Leicester City being Premier League Champions.

England is at number two, that means that even the second division of England is more prestigious than the Eredivisie. Leicester by solely playing for English football has more money to spend than Ajax. Ajax possibly winning it all would be a bigger shock in my opinion.

You’re entitled to an opinion but having more money to spend isn’t reallly a factor. As for selling players, Leicester immediately sold their best player after winning the league. That list only counts for competing in European competitions, so considering there aren’t many second tier English clubs competing in Europe, so not sure how that means the second tier is more prestigious than the Eredivisie.

It's a moot point since I don't think Ajax have a cat in hell's chance of winning but if they win the Champions League I do think that surpasses Leicester's title win as the greatest upset in modern sporting history.

What were the odds on Ajax to win it all at the beginning? Not trying to prove or disprove a point, just wondering as the odds on them reaching the quarters alone must have been pretty long.

What is Netherlands number 11 at? They’re 11 at a coefficient ranking system that is determined by the participation of teams in the Champions or Uefa league. Spain has Barça and RM winning it all for the past decade. England has its own death row of giants. Germany has Bayern, and so forth. The coefficient also dictates the number of spots a country has for the champions tournament. Spain and England have four, Netherlands well they don’t even classify for a direct spot, Ajax and PSV had to play against two teams in qualifying rounds. The coefficient rankings are also determined by the prestige or difficulty of the league of each country. In the pre money era, sure Ajax was a giant in football, but now the Netherlands league is considered a joke. Leicester just by its location it’s more prestigious and is worth more than Ajax. If in this post money era if Ajax beats Barcelona, Bayern, PSG, Manchester City, Roma, and Atlético, well that would be harder than what Leicester did.

The chances of them even reaching the champions were long, PSV constantly kicks their asses and Feyenoord also were a thread. Ajax had to also defeat Standard Liege and Dynamo Kyiv to qualify.

I don’t see anything on there about prestige or difficulty of the second tier in English football, just the top tier. The rankings are based on performance in the two European competitions over the past five years, I honestly don’t recall any team from outside the top-flight here playing in Europe. Leicester beat seven of the richest clubs in the world to win the Premier League that year. Whilst it certainly helps, It’s not just about money. Liverpool have spent more money in the last twenty years than all but three of the other Premier League teams, yet we’ve never won the sodding thing, even if we’ve won the Champions League and been runners-up twice in the same period. The second tier of English football is one of the biggest in the world. But I think as an Englishman, suggesting that League is more prestigious than the top tier leagues of some of the other lower teams on that list is ungentlemanly. Scotland is even lower on that list than the Dutch league but I still see the Scottish Premiership as more prestigious than the Championship.

Which I personally think is unfair. I know England are European footballing royalty and have had more recent success but I think it’s unfair that the Dutch runners-up have to qualify for the Champions League, yet the team that finishes sixth here automatically qualifies for the Europa. England gets four automatic entries to the Champions League, Netherlands gets one. Scotland doesn’t even get one.

If PSG lose this, it will further confirm they are the biggest frauds in football. An empty shell of a club.

PSG prove yet again that money can buy you players but it can’t buy you a team.

Porto may end up stealing the series lol. The only reason we're not in the QF already is because Eder Militão was doing all he could to prevent that.
