Just a random question I wondered today. With the various versions of the Genesis/Mega Drive over the years, what version (or even versions if you had more than 1) of the system did you own? The Model 1: The Model 2: The Model 3: (couldn't find a picture of a Mega Drive 3 if it exists) Or one of the random combo things they had, like the CDX or the JVC X-Eye?

Never seen a Model 3 in public.

I believe I had model 1, and my cousin had model 2. I am not entirely sure, though.

I had a JVC X'Eye model which had both the Genesis and Sega CD. It was awesome..... I saw that once in the wild, but the store owner put it on ebay, so I never even had a chance to consider

Still have my model 1 and 2 Out of the sake of curiosity, which do you prefer of the two if you have a preference?

"High Definition Graphics"-printed Model 1 and nothing else (as far as preference goes).
Other models don't run Hellfire properly (they play the music at half-speed) due to the different sound chip.
I have a model 2 and a Nomad (without battery carrier) sitting around at a friend's place, but they don't get used.

I had a JVC X'Eye model which had both the Genesis and Sega CD. It was awesome..... A friend of mine still does. He runs it through a SCART converter to run it through his Sony RGB monitor.

I have the model 1 Genesis sitting right next to my tv with the sega CD sticking out the side and the 32X growing off the top right now. Somehow it looks both neat and hideous.

Ghostbusters was a good Japanese game. aye that i played a lot DJ BOY was another one i had, that was great too, DYNAMITE DUKE didn't get a lot of play but heck it was a different game from the others. the converter i had didn't have a casing surround, so i had to be a bit careful but the machine itself was glorious, so thick and sturdy, you could throw it against a brick wall and the wall would come off worse
