Supposedly he’s still training at his MMA gym and I think he has another fight or two on his contract. Dana may as well just trot him out there for one of these ESPN or ESPN+ cards and let him get his ass kicked again. And I'll follow whomever beats him again on Twitter, per my mandate. ...and I know there are some MMA loonies on social media, so who knows what I'll get into.

Way back when he first signed it was reported to be an 8 fight contract. Source: www.google.com/amp/s/syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/2609460-cm-punk-reveals-8-fight-ufc-plan-expects-disappointed-fans-after-debut-bout.amp.htmlPunk’s full contract has never been publicly released so I don’t know if there are any other details on Punk’s end that could get him out sooner. I believe UFC retains the power to cut any fighter and have cut fighters infinitely better than Punk. They’ll never do it though since they’re afraid Punk will jump to Bellator or some place. Given the hubris Punk displayed in this whole fiasco it wouldn’t surprise me if Punk went in shrugging the 8 fights off, thinking he’d collect a fat paycheck for each. Although I’d hope Punk would be more skeptical, it wouldn’t surprise me if he overlooked that the contract could turn into a kind of prison.

I'm not sure how seriously I took UFC before they signed Punk, but they became a compete f***ing joke as an organization once they did.

Punk was a fantastic pro wrestler, I'd argue his ability was underrated. He just wasn't that kind of natural athlete Lesnar was that allows him to cross between sports. Then there were the wrestling injuries and years of bumps, he was a dead punker walking. And there's the key. Punk, and I think he has admitted this several times, is not naturally that athletic. He made a great living in a medium that is much more theatre than sports, did some Muay Thai to incorporate it into his wrestling, and somehow extrapolated from that that he was a legitimate tough guy. If dude had gone the Batista route and just fought a can's can in a minor fed, he might have still lost, but it'd be remembered the way Jushin Liger or Shibata's MMA losses are. Dana offering, and Punk accepting, a spot on the grandest stage was his biggest mistake.

I still think he did it only because of the wwe lawsuit and to cover his legal costs. He couldn’t be that delusional that with just one year of mma training he could beat legit athletes that have wrestled since they were babies.

Honestly, what he should have done in the first place. He certainly has more aptitude for it, as we've seen.

Contracts aren’t just X amount of fights, there’s also a period of time attached to it. ie a 5 fight, 3 year contract. UFC is obligated to offer 5 fights within 3 years, if they only offer 3 and the 3 years runs out then you’re free and clear. I believe that’s what recently made Cyborg a free agent, she had fights left but the time was up

While there may be a time line attached to it (and most probably is) these aren’t cookie cutter contracts. Heck, for all we know it’s an 8 fight, 10 year deal. Right now it’s been running for over 4 years so it is at least that long.

I imagine it’s 8 fights, 5 years because that seems fairly standard but who knows. Punk’s a smart dude, he wouldn’t have signed a stupidly long deal.

Oh my god. People who train all their life and who are real fighters never made it to the ufc but this f***ing scrub did it. f*** it even I could give him a run for his money and I haven’t rolled in more than four years. This is bullshit.

To be fair it was last out of three people. Not really enough to be all that embarrassing.

I mean,if you have any ounce of dignity and integrity you wouldnt wanna be associated to that f***wad Logan Paul I’m a little surprised he dignified responding to the call out. Also, this was the only UFC Punk thing I’ve seen in months. Other than that I saw an interview he did in July 2019 where Punk admitted he did everything wrong but says he was still part of the roster (though he has expected they would cut him). It has never been made public how much time needs to lapse before Punk’s contract simply runs out or if that is even a possibility (though it usually is). Early on Punk said his contract was for eight fights though. Of course there is no way in heck Punk is fighting six more times. I’m hoping Dana just forgot and isn’t keeping him on the roster for one more trainwreck.

They should've just cashed off right away and booked him against a top name. One "super" fight. At least it would have been exciting beatdown, instead of Mickey Mouse's and Michael Jackson's. That's how I saw it from the beginning...
There's of course the thing many said that you could not book him against an established veteran, 'cause commissions and all. But if there ever was one carney who could have made it possible, it would have been Dana White.

I’m sure they’d be just as kind to Punk.
