Other than online, can you name what else Nintendo is behind on?

Horsepower. Now I’m saying this as a dedicated Nintendo fan. I’m not someone that thinks graphics necessarily make the game. I love the Switch and I even love the Wii U. However, I do wish that their consoles were able to handle some of the heftier games when it comes to visuals.

Just about everything really. Good example is achievements - not anything I personally care about, but it's a zero effort thing everything else implemented a decade ago. Just do it.

They are behind on making shallow games that have more DLC than original purchase content on day 1 of release

Does it vary from game to game on the Switch? I’ve unlocked a couple of achievements for the Mega Man X Legacy Collection.

Man you have good memory. And in topic,eh , Nintendo do things their own way for better or worse. They probably find out-of-game Achieviments a waste of resource. Which I honestly don`t miss.

Hasn't Nintendo been behind,on the home console side, since the SNES?

Hasn't Nintendo been behind,on the home console side, since the SNES? The Wii was the best seller of it's generation by far And the DS is legitimately like the best or second best selling console ever (I believe the Ps2 and DS are neck and neck in that category) The Switch is also selling like gangbusters still. Also don't know the OP needs to make a topic every few months talking smack about Nintendo... but ok.

I mean that stuff's meant for children and children love shit like that. I mean I don't have one nor will I likely purchase one but if I was a kid? I'd be 100% begging my parents for it at like every opportunity. Just about everything really. Good example is achievements - not anything I personally care about, but it's a zero effort thing everything else implemented a decade ago. Just do it. Does it vary from game to game on the Switch? I’ve unlocked a couple of achievements for the Mega Man X Legacy Collection. they don't have like a dedicated Achievement system like Xbox or Playstation. A lot of the games have an in game achievement system.

Nintendo, for better or worse, marches to their own drum beat. The Wii-U was a misstep for them, but they've been having more hits than misses for a while now. Their tendency to stick with technology that is proven does sometimes mean being behind in terms of raw power, but it also keeps costs lower and they don't get red rings or "Disc Read Error" infamous f***ups, accordingly.

Which caused developers to not make N64 games. Gamecube-Went with mini discs instead of CDs or DVDS. So hurt sales. Wii-The system sold great. But how many people bought one and used it for Wii Sports and Netflix and nothing else. As far as handhelds Nintendo has been great and not behind on them. Since the SNES I haven't bought any Nintendo home console until it was majorly discounted. But have bought most of their handhelds the day they came out.

GameCube was technogically superior to the competition,it was the strongest of the bunch Even the Mini Discs wer Anti-Piracy measure and it worked...which was not a good thing because piracy was a big factor of the ps2 success in many countries (many people here in Brazil got it because it had an large array of games, which you could easily buy pirated) So while not a fun choice,it was basically more advanced than the ps2 and xbox. And it is the probably the console with the worse sales for nintendo.

The only thing I’d like them to add is Madden and NHL to the Switch. It’d then be the perfect console for me with NBA 2K already on there.
I know that’s not their focus, though. Maybe within the next few years...
