95 years is a hell of a run, no one can be sad about that. I will say, that man is the legend that created a pretty significant chunk of my childhood, Spider-Man was my first comic book ever, and I first learned where New York was because that's where he and the X-Men lived. Rest in peace, you absolute genius, and I am now, and will always be a True Believer.

This really saddens me. Stan Lee has turned from comic book royalty to a pop culture icon. I still can't believe my mom got to meet him not at any professional setting or comic convention, but as a cousin to one of her friends from the Catskills who complimented her art as a teenager. Not to mention that he and Kirby used comics like the X-Men as a means to speak out against bigotry and prejudice.
RIP Stan. Excelsior.

Damn...
His ideas changed the world of comics from simple kids stuff to literature for young adults, and influenced the world.
Rest in peace, sir.

Damn it not how I wanted to start my week. Expect a tribute to Stan the Man in the credits of either Captain Marvel or Avengers. RIP to a true legend.

I can’t add anything except I hate this. I’m not huge on comic books as my main time reading them was in grade school, but I love looking back and remembering those times. I still read from that era and earlier. Thank you Stan for making a part of my childhood special

Was his last movie cameo the Teen Titans Go movie? Captain Marvel had wrapped before his passing I'd be surprised if he doesn't show up there. And supposedly Marvel pre taped a bunch of cameos when his health was declining. Now I wonder what Marvel Films will do... slap on a dedicated to on Cap Marvel Or have a bigger dedication thing on the Avengers 4. Or both I guess... Edit: also I am told he was in Venom.

Fun fact, the Toku genre may not have had giant robots if not for Spider-Man.
Talk about trickle down effects.

Wow. I mean, he lived a full life, but still, another person you felt would be there for you forever. First heard his name and voice in the narrations to the '80s Marvel cartoons, which like Superfriends on DC's side, was what I had before reading any comic.
Someone brought up an interesting point...has the MCU Been so good because Stan had input? Now without him, do we see things go off the rails creatively, with Disney having free reign?
I also look forward to Joe Quesada having all the cameos now where he breaks up characters' marriages willy-nilly.

What I said earlier this year, when Stan was hospitalized: As sad as it is that Stan's time with us is winding down, we have to remember that 1.) 95 is a long life, and 2.) he'll die knowing that he and the characters he created and co-created have touched lives for generations. RIP, Stan Lee.

Always a classy move when even a rival company can pay their respects towards someone that was so important to their respective business

It's not only his creations themselves but...you know how many life long friends I've made because Marvel was the thing that made us click? Like it's amazing when you think about it
