SmackDown sneezed in Vince's vicinity before he could charge his shields.

SmackDown sneezed in Vince's vicinity before he could charge his shields. Oh my god, the repetitive booking is because Vince McMahon is a robot caught in some sort of feedback loop.

I rationalize it in my head-canon as having been a non-canon self-contained cross-over event similar to Capcom vs SNK.

think the whole RAW v SMACKDOWN thing has run it's course, what show is better or tops? doesn't matter as there won't be an ACTUAL top show other than RAW!
and this years was basically an afterthought, after some sort of event in the middle east, and having TLC on the next month

There was talk about it setting up a Shane heel turn, but that appears to be scrapped. It hasn't been dropped it's what this Miz and Shane McMahon storyline is leading too. Their apparently going to have a match at Wrestlemania 35 for the best in the world trophy.

It's pretty hard to care about brand wars when no one on either side has shown any legitimate loyalty to one brand over the other. Guys switch back and forth and suddenly their new home show is now where their loyalties lie.

Thus making this whole feud redundant.

I have no interest in seeing Shane McMahon in any big storylines at this point. He spent most of last year either wrestling or being a guest referee in several big matches. It's been more of the same this year. And it's frustrating when you have underutillized people like Andrade Cien Almas and Shelton Benjamin on the Smackdown roster. Almas hasn't had a proper feud with anyone on the show for ages. And it seems like they were going to do something with Shelton who hasn't done anything on the show in months.

My theory is that the New Day accidentally winning triggered some sort of OCD out of Vince that scared him out of doing whatever he planned to do with the aftermath. He planned for a "clean sweep," didn't get it, and it killed his mood for the whole thing. You can't say "clean sweep" a bunch of times, so what's the point now?

The same reason Akira Tozawa won the Cruiserweight title with no real build, James Ellsworth helped Carmella win the women’s Money in the Bank, they had everyone stand in a line to announce the first Women’s Royal Rumble etc. Moments. They want people to come in for a big moment and hope it carries them to the next moment. Shockingly, it doesn’t work. The DCCU method! We give you big moments but don't do anything to actually earn them

So Xavier Woods could cry about it on social media.

Sometimes you have to throw out a shock result to keep things unpredictable. Like a 2/3 falls match ending 2-0.

i know the fans wouldn't want it but in kayfabe if an acting general manager such as Baron Corbin was in charge when your brand did the only clean sweep wouldn't that be a good enough reason to make him the permanent GM

Somehow, that's the followup storyline to Raw sweeping Survivor Series.

because Vince was originally going to go to smackdown to shake things up, but the white ring ropes clash with his outfits.
Gotta have class pal.

Sometimes you have to throw out a shock result to keep things unpredictable. Like a 2/3 falls match ending 2-0. A shock result can work, but even those should serve a purpose beyond "anything can happen". Plus, this was, what, 7 matches? Not a one-off thing, it's just too much.

To add to this, if there is no follow up or consequences to events that are shocking or a clean sweep, why should anyone watching care? The fact that only one person, that being Xavier Woods, cared about it for literally one whole week and that was used as comedy bit says a lot to how much they cared about following that up. If the first Avengers: Endgame trailer was Captain America and the other Earth heroes just sitting down, eating shrawma and having the time of their lives and ignoring the fact half of the universe’s population were wiped out, including the people they know and love, then why would anyone care to watch it?

Because they buns. That’s the only thing you could get out of this roster. Smackdown is full of bums and got spanked by daddy Raw. You know, the show that’s practically unwatchable right now?
Yikes

They were all demoralised by the injury to their guiding light Becky Lynch, of course.
