Because honestly all of that could be simulated in a modern WWE game.

If it's an earnest attempt only time would bear an answer out.

If it's an earnest attempt only time would bear an answer out. Nothing about tonight seemed earnest in the slightest.

I said, in the Raw thread, that I thought it would be a big bunch of nothing. But it was somehow even less than that.

It's not, but they're going to act like it is until WM a.k.a. their next 'shake-up' period.
The most irritating thing is that they spent at least a solid hour burying Baron Corbin for how trash Raw has been; when one of the biggest complaints is DEDICATING AN HOUR OF THE SHOW TO BARON CORBIN!
They just don't get it.

I found you Ms. RAW Booty
Get it together and bring it back to me
Make a new era for about a month or two
Push Natalya and then see what viewers do

No but they did clearly say it wouldn't happen in one night at the start of the show.

Nope, nothing felt new. Had this just been any other episode of RAW without the pandering promo in the beginning of the show I wouldn't have been complaining and just accepted that episode of RAW for what it was. Instead the announcers and talent have to hammer the point that this is the NEW Monday Night RAW and everything still feels absolutely stale and that just intensified the feeling of negativity towards the product. I mean the show began with ALL FOUR of the McMahons opening the show with a promo and concluded with a wrestler from a bygone era who has never connected with the audience winning in the main event. Terrible.

There were some highlights, but that’s only because I set my expectations extremely low for the announcement.
Aside from that, they tried their best to make it seem like Raw was changing but this legitimately felt like a regular episode that would’ve happened months ago the minute they came back from commercial break to stall with the audience participation stuff.
I didn’t like that aspect at all. Don’t insult your audience by saying things will change and just leave them as is. Again, there were some highlights, but had it not been for setting my expectations so low, I would’ve shat on the show like everyone in that thread.

I have a wrestling reaction thread and I need RAW now CALL MR. McMAHON, 877-RAWW-NOW (works better if you imagine someone doing a horrible attempt at opera AND if you ignore the extra W)

If it does ACTUALLY change, and I especially emphasise “actually”, it ain’t going to be instantly. It never has. It took a good year to a year and a half for the New Generation to become the Attitude Era.

No but they did clearly say it wouldn't happen in one night at the start of the show. Obviously long-term change requires the long term, but there's so many structural issues that a single show should still feel like something different. Even if for just one night, to make it seem like there's an attempt. They didn't say "Mr McMahon is coming to effect something that will bring about some manner of change within the coming months", they said he was coming to shake things up. Nothing was shaken. If individual episodes are bad on a structural level and they don't address the structure, then there's no reason for the viewer to see a reason to give them a chance again.

It took a good year to a year and a half for the New Generation to become the Attitude Era. My optimistic side is saying to wait for these last three weeks to end. They nutritiously phone it in for the last few weeks of December.
