Seriously hoping this leads to a bunch of people signing, making bank, making the least effort imaginable then bailing once the contract ends If that’s the case, then why sign with WWE in the first place if your only goal for your 10 or 5 years in the indies is sticking it to Vince? It’d make more sense to just go to AEW WWE is still currently the only game in town. If I heard this and they wanted me it's basically carte blanche to have the old dope basically pour buckets of money into your bank account thanks to some weird paranoia him and Smithers are possessed by. They don't use a single person on the roster well or right consistently if at all, so using them for a big f*** off pay day and giving them nothing in return would sound good to me. Bounce later on, get that sweet, sweet healthcare from AEW and buy a townhouse in New Hampshire.

And in no way is this shitty. The wrestlers will be making way more money this way and they have the cards in their hands. They've got leverage. WWE is a business.
This benefits the wrestlers more than ever so I love everything about it.

So, you have Cody give you a bogus offer of a billion dollars a year. You take that offer to WWE. They double it. Boom! instant billionaires. It was almost too easy. A quote from the brilliance of one Robert Heenan: The money's the same, whether you earn it or scam it.

Seems to make sense to me that they will pay top dollar to people they think are worth the investment.
The roster is STACKED but pretty poorly utilised, perhaps post mania this year we’ll get that big change they have been promising and a total revamp of how they run the TV shows so they can start to use everyone properly.

I dont even think its people they think is worth the money. it is people that they dont want in other companies. it should be almost be the same thing, but not for WWE

Sounds like something WCW did when they were into “hurting” Vince

It’s good for the wrestlers financially but signing a bunch of talent, when you’re not already not using a bunch of talent, just so your unproven competition can’t have them... that’s not good for WWE which has had massive trouble using its roster. Great for a wrestler’s bank account but as a fan that’s not my first concern.

BRAH, hahahahaha. What a good time to be a wrestler. You can finesse the shit outta folks if you are smart enough. "Yeah HHH, I'd like to sign BUT AEW just sent me this big time offer." *slides HHH a piece of a paper* HHH: "...This offer is written in crayon. With several spelling errors." "Well, they were in a rush and that was the only thing around. Plus, you know those indie goofs can't spell, amirite? Hahahahaha, OK, you give me money now." HHH: "Hmmmm...f*** it, I need another warm body for NXT Midwest. You're signed." (Enzo with fake mustache) Enzo: Here's my contract *Hands HHH a piece of paper with $100 on it* HHH: I'll give you $20 to leave and never come back Enzo: HA! Joke's on you, I would've settled for five! *snatches money and scurries off*

Stop it.

From a talent stand point this is a great time to be alive and in your prime.
From a business stand point I'm not a fan. Screams of what WCW was known to do. Sign people to large contracts to make sure they didn't go to WWF and then let them sit around doing nothing or have a reoccurring role on a C level show. Though, this does feel like a reaction to the success of NJPW recently overseas and in the states as well as the positive online reaction to AEW.

Nah, that'll only happen once Vince kicks it and HHH turns the company into "HHH's good time booking playhouse where all your faves are used right and nothing ever goes wrong, EVER! THAT WAS ALL VINCE'S FAULT!"

Could you imagine how much leverage Hogan, Hall and Nash could have got out of today's current wrestler market, brother?
I bet Lesnar looks at this situation with intrigue, I reckon there's a few extra dollars to be made with his contract in the future.

Imagine if a few years back when Cody asked if he could stop being Stardust, WWE were like, "Oh, you're unhappy? Sure! You can go back to being Cody next week."

As a fan of these wrestlers that's my first concern. I want them and their families to be fed to give me entertainment. You can disagree. And in no way is this shitty. The wrestlers will be making way more money this way and they have the cards in their hands. They've got leverage. WWE is a business. This benefits the wrestlers more than ever so I love everything about it. It's absolutely shitty. It's a practical monopoly, trying to squeeze out the competition before it even starts. It's shitty. Stop it. Sorry buddy but I don't think it's shitty regardless of what you say. These wrestlers are the ones who make the decisions to sign. They're the ones who get to decide which company they go to, it's under them and with more money being involved that gives them more leverage and potential freedom. You can think it's shitty all you want but me? Nah, because a business is a business at the end of the day. You're acting like these wrestlers are being forced to sign to a company when they're not. At the end of the day these wrestlers are going to be benefiting more than any company and that's most important to me. I don't put businesses above wrestlers' own livelihoods. Whatever it takes to make sure these wrestlers get paid as much as possible I'm down for.
