So, basically, if this is true, we can expect Hawkins to end his streak against Ambrose, and an Otis/Renee romance storyline over the next couple of months.

Ambrose is a guy for me I never really got the appeal of. I can’t really think what his singles run brought to the table. Did he have any great matches? Cut any great promos? Have any great feuds? Outside of the AJ/Ellsworth stuff, I can’t really think of any. His matches in the first Rollins feud when Rollins turned were always disappointing, that was always chalked up to them being in the wrong roles. Then, the roles were reversed on the second go around, and it was even worse. I don’t like to call guys overrated, and everyone likes who they like, but Ambrose has always been the one guy who was overrated to me. His TLC match with Styles was a classic. Also the Last Man Standing against Owens. That’s not even counting The Shield 6 mans. Ambrose is the most misused character on the roster. By some distance. I know WWE is PG but just look at his promos in CZW and tell me he wouldn’t be one of the top stars in years doing that. In CZW, he got to be dark and twisted. He could cut a promo with a face full of blood and look genuinely unhinged. In WWE, he’s wearing a gas mask and a fur coat... getting injections in his ass telling us how much we smell.... Come on man. No wrestler is getting that over. Let alone somebody who is capable of so much more. Ambrose should be like Ledgers Joker.... Instead he is just a joke. Thanks Vince. You’d rather have him use someone’s real life cancer for cheap heat but using blood packets? That’s too far!

Oh shit, the curse lives on. uhh……..what curse? Ill fortune befalling those who draw #14 in Royal Rumbles, usually involving careers that don't reach their full potential for whatever reason, releases not long afterwards or premature deaths. Only for men's Royal Rumbles, though, no harsh fates have befallen Michelle McCool or Kairi Sane yet.

One would think that this would be a wake up call to Vince if someone is leaving because the creative side of things sucks so bad. Dude could have been this generations version of Austin, but way f***ing crazier. He could have brought ratings if they'd just let him be who he is. I'm glad he's leaving. More people need to. Especially those being mishandled and money isn't the end all be all. Getting tired of Vince being like: Here's a new contract -I don't like what you're doing with me Here's MORE MONEY -I don't like what you're doing with me -HERE'S EVEN MORE MONEY!!! ...like, just learn how to play to people's strengths, stop scripting shit, and watch the ratings roll in. This is all on Vince being a massive failure with a sure thing like Jon Moxley. Vince is a carny and a businessman. He comes from a time that what mattered is only money. I doubt he even understands the concept of working for respect or love.

Whenever I see a rumor-ish report hit, I expect to come here and see 18 pages of "BULLSHIT! COME ON! FAKE NEWS! HATERS! NO WAY!" To see 8 pages of people accepting it and coping is.......weird. Only for men's Royal Rumbles, though, no harsh fates have befallen Michelle McCool or Kairi Sane yet. Michelle had a skin cancer scare a couple years ago, but she's seemingly gotten thru it ok.

Maybe the women's thing works in reverse... Did one of Kairi Sane's pirate ships sink at one point before her wrestling career?

Yepppp.
It's like I said in the other thread. Ambrose these days judging those interviews is more about the art and story of wrestling. He seemed to be "one with the arts" in a zen-like style so with this happening man, yeah it makes sense. I'm 100% not surprised.
Yeah he'll be back down the line but I think hell go somewhere else until then. He loves wrestling too much.

Only for men's Royal Rumbles, though, no harsh fates have befallen Michelle McCool or Kairi Sane yet. Recap: 1988: Ron Bass – released within about a year 1989: Marty Jannetty – became a punchline, but he’s probably a sod anyhow. 1991: Bulldog. Dead aged 39. 1992: Hercules. Dead aged 47. Released within 3 months. 1993: The Berzerker. Released within...days, iirc. 1994: Doink the Clown. Clearly the curse struck the wrong clown. 1995: Jacob Blu: A Nazi-sympathiser who later financed TNA. 1996: Doug Gilbert. Who? (I know who before anyone says) 1997: Goldust. Maybe at one time, but he’s made a substantial recovery from drug addiction now. 1998: Ken Shamrock. 1999: Kurrgan. Released within 3-4 months 2000: Bob Backlund. Gone by May. 2001: Goodfather. Career pretty much over by May. 2002: DDP. Career ended that year. 2003: Eddie Guerrero. Died in 2005 aged 38. 2004: Rikishi. Released that year. 2005: Orlando Jordan. Well, his career pretty much died a death. 2006: Joey Mercury. Met a ladder which disagreed with him and essentially ended his full time WWE career. 2007: Jeff Hardy. Err, he likes drugs, I guess. And got stuck in TNA. That’s sort of a curse. 2008: Umaga. Dead. 2009: Finlay. Retired from WWE in-ring competition within the year 2010: MVP. Released that year, to much surprise. 2011: Chris Masters. Released that year, to many tears from the IWC. 2012: Jinder Mahal. Zzzzzzz. 2013: Rey Mysterio. His career was pretty much finishing by this point in WWE in his first run. 2014: Kevin Nash. Arrested soon after. 2015: DDP. 2016: Stardust. Gone by May. 2017: Kofi 2018: Nakamura - and just look at his 2018. 2019: Ambrose - going? Kofi is so far the only one 100% immune to it. And Haku in 1990, of course. Coincidences are far too sensible to try it on with Haku...

Yikes, that’s a huge loss. And if someone as high up as Ambrose is unhappy enough to want out imagine the rest of the locker room.

He has looked fairly unmotivated recently and does seem to be going through the motions.
I could see this being a possible Jericho break when Jericho first left and then returning. I also could see him do the CODY marathon tour once able to.
If Dean doesnt return to WWE I would expect him to ultimately end up in AEW (Double or Nothing is in Vegas) but I wouldnt be shocked to see him do a show or 2 for CZW (who Dean has always been loyal to for giving him a platform) and maybe a short run in Impact as a favor to Sami and The Crists as he is good friends with them

At the end of the day, I’d say Ambrose has had a good run, especially for someone with a deathmatch background. Did he get to reach his full potential? No. The character never got to be as dangerous and dark as it could have been. I’d even say that his FCW run is probably his best character work in the WWE system. But, once he got to the main roster, he was basically a featured talent the entire time, arguably up until this possible last few months where he’s dropped from upper midcard/fringe main eventer to just midcard. He’s won a shitload of belts and got a back catalogue of banger matches with a whole bunch of Shield six-man tags and some other scattered stuff here and there (SummerSlam 2014 Lumberjack match with Rollins, Backlash 2016 with Styles, the tag matches with The Bar)... There’ll be some regrets, but not too many. It probably could have been darker and I agree with you on most points, yeah. but then we never would have gotten moments like this:

This might sound silly, but I'm actually feeling really sad about this. He's been my favorite wrestler since the Shield days, more so after I explored his indy work.
However, he deserves something better. He could of been that star with mainstream appeal, he has the talent, charisma and passion for it, but WWE ruined him for the time being. I think the point that began his downfall in WWE is that joke of a Wrestlemania match against Lesnar.
At least we had that period on Smackdown somewhere in between where he was the champ and looked like the top dog on that brand. Imma cherish those days
The only times I've felt this way about a star leaving was Stone Cold in 2002 and CM Punk in 2014.
Hope he gets a break and maybe reinvents himself, or just does whatever he enjoys.
Also, I can't help but wonder how Seth feels. Out of two of his closest friends in the business, one gets a serious illness and the other is so fed up and disillusioned that he is calling it quits. Damn.

Good luck to him, he's immensely talented and I'd love to see him in NJPW, if he wants to do that. But to be honest I don't think WWE's product will be all that lacking without him.
Sort of like a singles, upper-echelon version of The Revival, I suppose. Sometimes it's just time to go thrive somewhere else, it's healthy and best for everyone.
