I love Bill and Ted. A lot. But I just get that feeling it's gonna be Dumb and Dumber To. Took too long. It won't ruin the previous movies or anything...but it's hard to live up to the legend you've created. Still gonna watch it. So. Eh, whatever. Gotta see. When he first wanted to do Clerks 3, Kevin Smith said he wasn’t sure Jay and Silent Bob would be in it because still hanging out in front of the Quik Stop selling weed might just be too sad in their 40’s. Since then, he’s done Reboot and Jay is a dad and a new dimension is added to the character. Hopefully them being dads keeps it from being too sad because they still haven’t wrote the song.

So the pre-order has gone live. $25 is going to be the cost for the movie.
Here's the (I guess) good news though. The movie is yours to keep once you pay for it.

Just watched it.
Only 90 minutes, but it packed a lot in. Liked a lot of it
Daughters were likeable enough, and they didn't dominate the film, they have their only little side-quest, and even their mothers the Babes have an arc all their own even if they have fewer appearances.
Sometimes it doesn't feel like a lot was spent on this film, most of the budget probably went to realising the future and hell settings, which looked impressive.
Man does the film end abruptly though, I figure if Covid weren't a factor this would have been cleared up with a few post-prod touch ups or even reshoots.

Good news is that it’s getting decent to good reviews. Thank god because I was so worried it wouldn’t be good.
Have no idea when I’ll be able to watch it though. No news what’s happening with the Australian release.

So, lots of B&T content online because of this...
Cinema Snob on the animated series: Cinema Snob on the Fox sitcom: (didn't know Alice from Nightmare on Elm Street was in it!) Red Letter Media on the original two movies: Some polarizing bald guy with a hat, glasses, and tie on the original two movies:
Bonuses:
Remember when B&T crossed over (sort of) with Mister Rogers? AVGN on the NES game:

We watched the first two earlier this week.
This a great follow up. It’s such a weird series that sequel 30 years later didn’t feel like a cash grab. The movie did it’s own thing will referencing the first two. You should check it out if your looking for a fun way to spend 90 minutes.

Saw it last night. It was everything I wanted it to be and everything about it was done well.
29 years I waited and the payoff was worth it.

Just watched the whole trilogy as I hadn't seen the first two in at least a decade.
What a fantastic way to end a fun evening. I absolutely loved it. I want them to make an actual Billie and Thea movie next.

Absoloutley loved it this was so much damn fun at a really quick pace.
They bring the characters into the modern times but never losing the overall tone and feel of the series.
And yes I shall get on the I am all for a Billie and Thea spin off movie as well.

I didn't like it. Loved the first one and thought the second one was okay but felt it should have ended there. I didn't see the need for a third one. Maybe I'm just tired of seemingly every old property getting a sequel or remake. As I said I wasn't interested in seeing this but my friend wanted to and there was nothing else to do so I went. It was getting good reviews so I gave it a chance but I didn't like it. It's far from the worst or anything but I didn't enjoy it. My main problem was seeing Bill and Ted still being dim-witted wannabe rockers in their 50s was depressing and seeing their future lives was just more so. I also saw the plot twist coming a mile away. {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}A couple more complaints:
Dennis the robot assassin was just annoying.
Also why didn't we get a SONG at the end? It was just everybody playing instruments throughout time and space. I get what they were going for but it just looked like they couldn't come up with a better ending. On the positive side the daughters were very likeable and sweet. And I loved seeing the band come together. {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}Especially Jimi Hendrix jamming with Mozart. Again it's not the worst thing. A lot of people seem to love it and that's great but I would have rather they left off on two.

And yes I shall get on the I am all for a Billie and Thea spin off movie as well. I'd legit watch Billie & Thea's Excellent Adventure. They were such pure souls. Very well cast as the daughters. I had a good time. These two characters have always represented some of the best in humanity for me, as dumb as that sounds. I needed this in 2020.

I'm really, really against spending $20 for a digital rental when even a new release matinee is like $7, but some of the comments and reviews are making me second guess that.

You sum it up perfectly..by saying they are pure souls. And really that describes Bill and Ted and they aren't the smartest tools in the shed but damn it they are two guys with not a harmful bone in their bodies and that bodes the same for their daughters they are what humanity strives to be. Also helps that Samara Weaving is one of them who has been just knocking it out of the park since The Babysitter and then Get Out and Guns Akimbo.

I really want to watch this, but I’ve never actually seen the original films, and I feel like it would be a mistake to skip them.

I'm the same way, but I absolutely love both movies and I've been waiting a long time (like I remember when this first came to fruition) and honestly, I want to support this so I didn't think twice and bought it. If it helps out any way, my advice is going to be my response to the last post. I really want to watch this, but I’ve never actually seen the original films, and I feel like it would be a mistake to skip them. Yes it would be a mistake. While I don't think it would be 100% necessary to watch this as a stand alone, you would miss out on a lot of callbacks from the first two. Here's the good news though, check your streaming providers as most are offering up the ENTIRE trilogy for purchase now for I believe around $30-35. Given that the newest one is $25, you're getting two more movies for next to nothing.

Brigette Lundy-Paine and Samara Weaving were perfectly cast, and I totally buy that those are two kids raised by those two guys. From the trailers I half expected to dislike the daughters, but they're great.
