I love, love, love, LOVED how utterly free of cynicism the movie was. It’s amazing how many really emotional moments and lines could come from a movie like that. Especially in regards to the interplay between the different incarnations of Bills and Teds.
And that cameo from you know who in 2025-ish was just *chef’s kiss*.

It was great that there was no cutesy snark or fourth-wall breaking at all, which you usually see in projects like this. It was just another honest-to-goodness Bill & Ted adventure. The only "meta" elements that I saw at all were the countdown they had to write the song being the running time of the movie itself (they're first told they have 78 minutes until 7:17 with 78 minutes left in the movie) and Rufus' daughter being named Kelly, after George Carlin's actual daughter (which is very sweet)

Watched this last night and was just smiling the entire time. Seeing Reeves and Winter slide back into the roles again after so long and still having the chemistry they did was great. Keanu especially has changed the most since the last movie, ironically I think it has been the John Wick movies that sort of erased the image of Ted, so seeing him still be able to play that sort of character was really awesome. I loved the daughters and would love to see them in a spin off. It's hard to make characters like that not be annoying and they really pulled it off.
One review I read summed it up pretty perfectly. This wasn't a movie that had to be made. Bogus Journey wrapped up the story of Bill & Ted pretty perfectly. But given how 2020 has gone for the world, a movie like this that is just genuine and sweet and honest and fun and non cynical, it might be the movie that we all NEED.

Another small thing I liked was the guy playing Mozart was clearly having a blast being in this movie.

It kept me entertained, which is all I really ask in a movie nowadays. Dennis was the highlight for me(just a fan of the actor in general)and I thought Billie and Thea did a good job.

That was pretty much the plot. It was fantastic, I'm just saying it still followed that formula.

That was pretty much the plot. It was fantastic, I'm just saying it still followed that formula. They aren’t losers, though. They’re hard-working artists (the movie implies they are legitimately talented with a wide range of instruments and vocal styles) who love their wives and are great fathers to their daughters. Heck, even the main reason they went to couples therapy was because they viewed themselves and their wives as a singular unit, which, as far as relationships go, isn’t the worst problem to have.

Heck, even the main reason they went to couples therapy was because they viewed themselves and their wives as a singular unit, which, as far as relationships go, isn’t the worst problem to have. If there's one thing Bill & Ted are in their canon, is they exude pure whole optimism everywhere they go. Sure, they aren't the brightest guys on the planet, but everything they did was purely out of trying to make things right even when literally everything (including destiny) is against them. Aside from that one line from Ted when he said he was tired, there wasn't a single time when the Stallyns didn't do everything they could out of love and compassion for their family and their inherited responsibilities. Hell, even at the beginning when they were playing "That Which Binds Us Through Time: The Chemical, Physical, And Biological Nature Of Love And The Exploration Of The Meaning Of Meaning, Part 1" you can see how much time and effort they went into trying to learn every single instrument they could get their hands on to find the right song to unite the world. Throughout that, they kept their kids involved through the whole process to a point where music appreciation not only helped the girls assist their fathers, but they were able to fulfill their destiny via proxy. Even better, they had absolutely no problem taking a step back for their kids despite having worked for decades to get to that point. The one and only issue I had with the movie was the rather abrupt ending (I felt like they could've had a mini-epilogue of some sort to close out the series); other than that, the more I think in retrospect about it, the more I appreciate that this movie finally had the ability to be released.

Cannot wait to see this, especially after seeing how everyone is saying it’s such a fun and cheerful movie. I really need something like that right now.

They certainly aren't losers to us the audience. However in the movie, Wyld Stalyns has gone from the biggest band in the world to nobodies, their wives and Ted's father want them to get real jobs, and after a quarter of a century they haven't fulfilled what they were told was their destiny. It totally follows the formula of our childhood heroes being down on their luck now and trying to come back from it. It's just a much more optimistic and less cynical movie than is usually made with this formula.

I saw it last night and really enjoyed it.
It's hilarious that the Missy joke kept going in this.

Can I just say how beautiful it is that no version of Bill and Ted in any future past, or present didn’t remain good friends? None of the future versions we saw, many of whom were going through some truly rough times, weren’t still the best of friends.
It’s a small thing, but the friendship of Bill and Ted being the most solid thing in all of time and space is most triumphant.

One of the songs from Excellent Adventure was In Time from “Robbi Robb”. Some of the lyrics to that track are as follows
Our dreams Will all come true I promise you Cause I can see For miles and miles
It’ll take time But we’re going far You and me Yes I know we are In time We’ll be dancing in the streets all night
That CAN’T be a coincidence, right? That’s the overall premise of the movie predicted by the most famous track from the first movie.

Apparently, it's been doing very well on VOD; it's been either the #1 or #2 movie on every available platform since its release.
