"Now we get paid, blow up like the World Trade." -Notorious B.I.G. Edit: Though to be fair I'm not blaming Biggie here. He couldn't have known what was going to happen after he died. I assume you don't know about or remember the Trade Center bombing in 1993. That's what he was referencing.

I know that, but people who don't know Biggie died years before 9/11 might not make that connection.

This is 5000000% accurate. The writing is terrible and it's the whitest thing ever. There are damn near no people of color in that entire show. In NEW YORK. I hate Friends so much. When smart people want to watch a show about stupid people, they watch Seinfeld. When stupid people want to watch a show about stupid people, they watch Friends. What about those of us who watch both? Are we stupid or smart

I rewatched the entire Seinfeld show a couple months ago, after years since i saw it regularly on syndication. Such a great show, I don't get "Some parts haven't aged well like jerry not knowing email, prices of rent" But when you watch a show like Seinfeld or ANY show from the past you realize what time period you are watching it in, so yea makes sense since its the mid 90s.
Also love watchin Married With Children, I could careless about what hasn't aged well, most stuff I found funny in the 90s, I still find funny now, obviously some stuff these shows did wouldn't be able to be done today. But that's why I barely watch the safe boring sitcoms of today.

While I'm on the subject of Rap, would Eminem be able to get away with a song like 'Kim' these days?

Honestly, I think a lot of the supposed "wouldn't fly today" stuff from Married... with Children would be just fine if presented in a similar context, i.e., not played straight. Not all, mind you, but I think a lot of the hubbub is quite overblown.

Had to bump this thread because I was watching The King of Queens last night and it was one of the episodes with Bryan Cranston in it.
At one point Cranston's character Tim is sitting watching TV with Doug, flicking through channels when he apparently stops on a show with the Olsen Twins featured (not seen on-screen).
"Those Olsen Twins sure are growing up fast" says Tim while sipping a beer.
The episode aired in 1999. Bryan Cranston was around 42 at the time while the Olsen Twins had not yet turned 13. No way would that line be allowed in 2020.

I'm gonna say something controversial..
Knowing what we now know about mental health. If Animaniacs debueted today there would be a major fuss.
I mean I tried watching the pilot again, as all I see is three sociopathic little turds tormenting an inocent Doctor and sexually harassing a nurse. No wonder they were locked away in a water tower for 50 years.

The biggest thing that wouldn't fly is Al being able to afford that house, in a Chicago suburb, supporting a family of 3 and a dog, all on one salary, the salary of a shoe salesman in a mall.

Waiting for them to turn 18....

Yeah it would probably get the pass Family Guy, South Park, etc. get.

To be fair, werent they constantly having financial problems? Al having such a low-profile job was just another way to be different from the family sitcoms of the 80s where the parents all had ridiculously high-profile jobs (Cliff Huxtable was a doctor, Claire was a lawyer, Jason Seaver was a psychologist, etc).

I love the Drew Carey version of Whose Line is it Anyway, but rewatching it on youtube, there were so many gay jokes, especially from Colin. Havent seen the new version but it's likely more toned down.

It's possible that Al inherited the house when his father died. I think it was once implied that he had lived in the same house since he was a kid.
