www.rottentomatoes.com/m/scoobCritic scores so far sits at 53%, but audience appreciation is in the solid 70s, so while not a critical darling, it's clicking more with the public, likely due to families and kids My goodness, the quarantines have fostered a form of Stockholm Syndrome - they'll like anything if it's a distraction from the pandemic! (Seriously, wonder if this audience rating would've been the same had things.............remained normal, gosh weren't those the days huh?)

I had mixed feelings about this movie. A lot of the humor actually landed so that's a positive, and I enjoyed the unique takes on some of the characters. I will say that I don't think that Simon Cowell didn't really fit with the movie's art style. Every character was super stylized and he comes in with this elaborate motion capture performance and just looks out of place. I'm not against him being in there at all, since this is a franchise that has celebrity cameos out the wazoo, but he just felt off. I also didn't like Tracy Morgan as Captain Caveman. He did as best as he could, but I don't think he was a fit for the role.

I guess I probably enjoyed this more than others because based on trailers I went in with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. I think Simon worked, it was a homage to the celebrity involvement over the years, but it was on brand for him to be a dick to Shaggy and Scooby, and set the film in motion. I guess Gordon Ramsay would have been more relevant. There was a lot of cool ideas but I don’t think they all landed. I’m sure we will get at least one DTV sequel to this, but I would like them to play around with the HB characters more. Some neat Easter eggs: www.google.com/amp/s/screenrant.com/scoob-movie-easter-eggs-cameos-hanna-barbera-characters/amp/

My biggest issue with this is the same as always - some things don't work in a contemporary setting. Scooby Doo is a product of the hippie era, and the music, backgrounds, etc. all reflected that. In essence, that era is as much Scooby Doo as the Mystery Machine.
Just make a period piece and call it good. Kids don't care, they just want it to be fun.

After reading the end movie scenes I have to say... {Spoiler}...I’d watch the hell out of a Falcon Force movie. Blue Falcon, Dynomutt, Captain Caveman, Atom Ant, Jabberjaw and Grape Ape? Sign my ass up.

I don't know what ya'll been snacking if you do not like it! Every clip I've seen so far has been golden. *I'm Weak!* Makes me want to maraton bunch of ScRooby Dooby Dooo'ohs. Loved the Supernatural episode too. My favourite VHS as kid was that Bigfoot one which had Laurel and Hardy in it! e: I love Shaggy and Scooby's appetite for life!!!

Bout 3/4 thru it with zero expectations and I love it.
Edit: oh no, Captain Caveman... no...
Edit 2: second movie better have Falcon Sr. retired from super heroing, but practicing Law at Sebbin & Sebbin alongside Harvey Birdman.

Will this lead to even more sexually confusing moments with Dick Dastardly?

Had better include the Ruby-Spears Universe this time. Only if they can get the rights to Mega Man back again.

Had better include the Ruby-Spears Universe this time. Power X-Treme! Scoob 2 takes place in the year 1997. Can the gang stop a cataclysm from destroying the earth? And if they can't, who will it take to protect us all? Someone of a...barbaric nature?

The sequel to Scoob has been scrapped You'd think they'd at least release it Direct To Streaming / DVD / Blu-Ray if they didn't want to put it in theaters.
