Didn't this already get brought up by the same dude in a thread before, and we never got any proof? Exactly, if there’s a tape of Cornette saying the n word then please upload it if not then don’t make serious shit up. LOL.... I'm not making it up. I've posted the details if anyone out there wants to track it down. It's in tape trading circles, it's out there. I'm not going to be the one to post the video of it, but I'll mention it exists. And this will be the last time I mention it until someone else independently decides to post it. It's inevitable that someone will, eventually. There's already a video of him on YouTube from a Q&A talking about how he freely uses the word, and refers to a different altercation where he did it. He doesn't deny it. Pay attention to 3:30 to about 4:30 of this video for him specifically (and proudly) re-telling a story about it. youtu.be/9OzvftFOhq8?t=210

I rewatched DoN last night with my buddy who was never an insider or workrate fan who was a wcw only fan that stopped watching wrestling when wcw went out of business.I told him AEW was gonna be on TNT in the fall and it filled him with enough nostalgia that he agreed to watch the debut show but he was more in line with Cornette’s thoughts as he had no idea who 99.9% of the people were or what was going most of the show and my friend isn’t some old bitter curmudgeon he just looks at pro wrestling way differently than the IWC. His positives were: It looked Major League on TV and reminded him that halloween havoc took place there which was bonus points for him. The crowd passion he just wished he could be that excited about it. He remembered Glacier,DDP,Jim Ross(who he was never a fan of he was a schiavone guy),Bret Hart,Dustin Rhodes and Jericho from WCW.Those were the only people he knew on the show. He thought MJF was a superstar and he wants to punch him in the face. He thought Luchasaurus looked like a cooler version of Mortis He thought the Guy with no legs was amazing. He was a big fan of Allie & Brandi. He absolutely loved Cody & Dustin and felt it was the only time he had any idea what was going on with the show.He cried even though he claims otherwise. He thought Pentagon looked awesome. He couldn’t believe Jericho who he hasn’t seen since 99 was still wrestling & a main eventer. He got into the match after I explained the backstory. He had zero idea who Moxley was but he was intrigued by the crowd response and his intensity. His Negatives: The Announcers. The Fact he had no idea what was happening most of the time. Too much goofy stuff in the battle royal for a match where the winner is getting a world title shot. He didn’t get Omega or The Young Bucks at all Watching the show with him was an eye opener cause if AEW wants to bring back real lapsed fans and not the fans that claim their lapsed but still watch all the time and are constantly searching the internet was wrestling news their gonna need to change alot of what they do to appeal to those real former fans. I agree with most of that, and that is pretty much along the lines of what Cornette was saying.

Threw a massive tantrum on twitter tonight about criticism of his reviews, sailed very close to the wind with anger about Joey Ryan, one of these days the old boy is going to tweet himself into a lawsuit.

Oh yeah, just remembered. Him not knowing what sensory inclusive meant and trying to shit on them for that was very cringey. He kinda was coming off a bit jealous. I’d like to see what type of show Cornette would book in 2019 given the resources Cody and co. had lol. To be fair I didn't know what it was either and had to Google it. Jim has since learned about it and praised it. he praised it, but at the same time still kind of criticized them. it didn't need to be explained because A) it had absolutely nothing to do with the viewers watching at home, B) the segment of the show where it was mentioned was the tail end of the pre-show and was probably supposed to be dark anyway, C) they had already done several videos, episode of Beings the Elite, interviews, tweets, merch sales, etc. to raise awareness of autism and sensory inclusive rooms, and D) if they did dedicate time on the show to explaining what a sensory inclusive room is, Cornette probably would have bitched about them doing it and said they're just trying to pat themselves on the back

AEW making the show sensory inclusive and then not making a big deal of patting themselves on the back for it with video packages throughout the PPV was so refreshing.
You just know if it was WWE they'd have been boasting about it all night.

I only wish Santino would have beated the absolute shit out of Cornette a few years back
ACtually scratch that, I hope Cornette sees Russo in public and Russo beats the shit out of him after Cornette tries to fight him and video gets posted on the internet

Can anybody tell me what he said about Aubrey Edwards and female referees? I'd rather not give his youtube or podcast accounts any plays but am dying to know what he said. He said he didn't like the woman ref cos it "looks bad visually" and as if they're not worried about her accidentally getting hit in the face and you wouldn't get it in a Ali/Fraser match or in UFC. Absolute nonsense since the ref in that Ali match was a tiny dude and UFC have had female refs too!

I don't get how he finds Omega so unbelievable. When I watch his matches he looks like like a muscled up crazy person beating the everloving shit out of people, and his promos are pretty intense. Omega does comedy spots occasionally therefore he's a joke. He's said that multiple times. By that logic, Jim Cornette is also a joke who shouldn't be taken seriously. Or Rock. Or Austin. Or Cena. Or HHH. Or Flair. Or Dusty. Or anyone, really.

Jim Cornette is an out of touch homophobe, transphobe and racist. He's often worse than Russo, just with better publicity.

Cornette in a lot of cases comes off to me as someone who knows what he thinks and says isn't going to fly so he tries to couch it in weird justifications that don't exactly land or succeed like he thinks it does. Just complete garbled nonsense cooked up to try and avoid addressing the core of what his problem is.

Heh, I know a guy who's not super thrilled about her either, but mostly because he found out that her signing means that AEW had been scouting his home promotion and ended up signing one of the least experienced people there (according to him). So it's less "He-man-woman-hater" and more bitterness that he got passed up for a job.

It's the wrestling the blow up doll and the little kid that did it for him. Not just normal comedy spots. Right, but that makes his hatred for Omega even dumber. The blow-up doll, lttle girl match etc, were supposed to be comedy and played for laughs, not intended to be taken seriously. Random comedy spots in what is otherwise presented as a serious match/promo/whatever, should, according to his logic actually be worse, taking the viewer out of the moment.

Witch hunts are too fun to be ruined by things like context. It's a part of the toxic outrage culture we're living in.
I despise this culture where people deliberately mischaracterise others and their words to gain "brownie points" online and most of them who do this would turn on each other if they had a chance to make themselves look "progressive" If you don't like Jim, fine I get it, he can be nauseating or too loud for some, but this seems like the latest witch hunt that some parts of the iwc loves

Cornette's language, even in context, was wildly problematic. That's the issue. Consider how someone with his platform made, at best, careless word choices whose potential impact is far worse than him being called out over it.

I think Cornette was fair in his criticism. He doesn’t like comedy wrestling and he’s never made any bones about that. Likewise I think he’s absolutely right about Joey Ryan being garbage.
With that said Ryan also obviously isn’t hurting financially, so maybe dial it back a bit and keep it reasonable.

What exactly did Corny say about Sonny? I'm hearing mixed things, but nobody is posting quotes.
