Having seen the shirt on that link, who in their right mind thought releasing that was a good idea? That's quite clearly misappropriation of name and likeness.
At least contact him first and see about cutting (no puns intended) him in on any sales made.
Also, LOL at the lawyer immediately showing up in the twitter convo.

For the most part, I'm a Jim Cornette guy in that he and I have similar views about what is and isn't entertaining in wrestling. I think he goes too far with some of his rants like wishing for people to be boiled in oil and have their fat sold as soap is a bit much for me. However, I just chalk it up to Jim being colorful and hyperbolic. That being said, I'm a bit disappointed that a guy who says and does the shit that he does can't take this as a joke. The man has a t-shirt of himself pissing on another man's grave. He sold copies of another dude's restraining order against him. I honestly think that he would be able to appreciate something like this. I could even see him going on his podcast and going, "Well, the outlaw mudshow mfs are at it again. This time, their trying to use me to make money, which is a good idea because it'll probably be the best selling shirt in outlaw mudshow history...…" In other words, I thought Jim would be more of a "roll with the punches" kind of guy. Talking shit without being able to take it is classic bully behavior 101. He's far from the only public figure who throws out tons of insults and is also incredibly thin-skinned. It's got nothing to do with being thin skinned. It's about shutting down somebody who is making money from using his image without his permission. Quite the opposite of being thin-skinned, I could actually see Cornette making his own anti-Cornette shirts after this.

The absolute state of bitchboy Jim makes me want to buy a million of these shirts and throw as much money as I can at deathmatch promotions for the rest of my life. Like, I think I genuinely prefer Russo.
Also semi-related but god I wish G-Raver would retire. Like, legit every month or two I see people sending him condolences after something went wrong and like he's quickly becoming the most likely person to die in the ring this year or next.

Yeh Jim Cornette is thin skinned ,a hypocrite ,childish and a bully overall. But he is right ,at very least legally,in this situation.

Honestly I can't possibly care about any legal stuff here when he literally tweeted about wishing G Raver bled out in the ring. Jim deserves every bit of mockery he gets and more.

...On that note, does Russo have any actual fans?

Yes to both questions, which is why I find the Jim Cornette and Vince Russo feud so fascinating. They are basically the same guy. The only difference is that they are both stuck in different eras of wrestling.

I feel like he probably does, but if he does I almost never see it anymore. Cornette on the other hand has one of the most toxic fanbases I've ever seen a wrestling personality have.

The big problem with this thread is Cornette never wished death on this jabroni. And selling “merch” that doesn’t even mention the actual wrestler on it is lame. Yes he did lol. He literally said that he wished the show would have stopped so everyone could watch him bleed out.

This is def venturing into "snowfakes always picking on him" and he's a f***ing bully territory

Virtually nobody sides with Edgy Douchef***, save perhaps for a consideration of the idea that parody law could protect him in this situation, this is taken as proof everyone is rushing to destroy and denigrate Bitter Old Man. It's really fascinating to see this weird panic defense for a man who really comes just short of complaining about snowflakes--or maybe is outright doing it for all I know--and likes to retweet people who commend him for how he 'triggers' them online, it's all the same behaviors but with the opposite market.

Cornette is within his legal rights to protect his likeness and everything involving his image. However, that doesn't change the fact he is still an old shit stirring fool who himself could be sued for the way he has talked to people. Whoever the dickhead is he is suing is also still a dickhead. Common ground folks, two people can still look bad and no one comes out of this looking good whatsoever. Cornette is legally within his rights and should pursue these avenues but he's still an asshole

It’s not the first time he’s wished death on a wrestler either I remember a few years ago when he compared Kota Ibushi to Hitler and said he should die. Unrelated but my favorite Ibushi story is when he tried high five Vince McMahon backstage at NXT because he had no idea who Vince was. Imagine a similar interaction with Ibushi and Cornette? That would be hilarious.

If you’re gonna mock Cornette at least be more creative, that shirt is cringeworthy and I wouldn’t wear it in public.
