Oh neither do I, I was just providing an update Cheeseburger is a lifer and a trainer, of course he'll defend them, and I think Silas is in the same boat. It's an unfortunate stuation where guys would choose the health and safety of people over their own company, but considering the shit we've seen happen with them this year, it really feels like rolling into 2020, ROH's roster is only gonna be filled with people drinking the Kool Aid and talent that doesn't know any better.

I can't embed them here because open n word in a screencap, but another sockpuppet account has been drummed up, this one mass-following people tied to Joey's twitter, that looks to be trying to smear him as a racist with yet-unmaterialized promised texts and shit. It's getting weirder and nuttier, but Joey's at this point earned all the benefit of the doubt as weird socks keep coming up to shit talk him and he keeps proving all the claims he makes. And the thing is, even if he was a raging racist, it wouldn't disprove any of his points. It might make me hesitant to see him in certain places, but everything he has said about ROH would still stand. Unfortunately it would kind of help suppress the backlash, I mean, Corny had a lot of complaints about the same people and it didn't get a lot of play because of all the garbage he's come out with over the years. People don't want be seen to signal boost racists, even on the things they're right about on other topics.

On one hand I could see the people defending ROH as not having the same negative experience. On the other hand, sometimes you want to be loyal. How many people defended TNA while they were there only to bash them mercilessly as soon as they were no longer employed?
Honestly, I do understand wanting to defend your employer especially if they haven't treated you poorly, but all that should be said is "I cannot comment on what issues others have had, but I have not experienced those same issues" especially when you have someone as vindictive as Joey who is able to provide a lot of proof.

You know what all of this is putting in greater context for me? The way a lot of wrestlers seemingly left ROH super quickly a few years ago. There were some guys in ROH who were getting pushes where they'd almost get to the top but never quite all the way (Cedric Alexander, Moose, ACH, maybe Punishment Martinez would've wound up that way) where you could understand them saying "I've hit my limit here, time to try some place different", hence each of them going for NXT/WWE/Impact contracts. There were other guys who had done everything they could in ROH, so them leaving made sense (all of Undisputed Era, the Elite). In those cases it felt a bit in retrospect like "Oh well, tough luck ROH, that's life when you're not the big dog in the wrestling yard, better get the next round of talent built up to take their place." But then there was a group of guys who got to ROH, spent a little time there, and then seemed to bolt really quickly. I remember thinking at first "Wait, how could these guys feel they're being misused? They've barely been around!" But then other stories have gotten out saying that it wasn't just a case of not being pushed hard enough, but of not being treated right behind the scenes. And when you see some of the names that happened to you start realizing all the money that the current Sinclair management team has set on fire: Lio Rush, Donovan Dijak, KEITH @#$%ING LEE, a list of talent that's currently killing it, getting huge reactions, drawing money, etc. It doesn't seem to have been a case of guys being "belt marks" or something, but a genuine sense of grievance of how things were being handled backstage. Hell, for this year we can add Juice Robinson; maybe he would've moved full time to Japan anyway, but the texts show the guy got underpaid, and he's a damn star. Or what about Finlay and Dashwood, who were in the same faction? In other words, all this stuff Joey is showing to the public is really recontextualizing a lot about the recent "lost generation" of ROH, and making me think that management played a much more active role in driving a lot of these talents off rather than it being a simple case of guys jumping for bigger contracts elsewhere or being "marks for themselves" or something like that. Yeah, that's basically how Jeff Cobb handled it, and it's the professional way to go that keeps you on good terms with both your employer and your coworkers.

Joey continues his rampage... edit: Greggums is going so crazy he's going to work himself into being a shoot NBA executive. My favorite part of this is that he's using his corporate email to do it.

Wait, I knew that it was obviously someone in the front office pulling this but Greg couldn't even be bothered to use a non-work email for this? Not even a burner? Dude really is an absolute moron.

I see the last two recent Tweets from Joey are deleted; anything of note in those?

I see the last two recent Tweets from Joey are deleted; anything of note in those? From what I can tell, whoever set up the fake Twitter that manipulated Joey's texts to try and smear him as using racist language tried to blame it on ROH's merch guy and Joey went off on him. It was then exposed as coming directly from Greg Gilleand, so Joey deleted the messages attacking the merch guy, immediately apologized, and is now even more pissed off and has evidence of even more f***ery. These guys are impressive at how incompetent they are at being scumbags.

If Greggy ain't out of a job here (or "reassigned", I'm sure) within the week then I can't begin to guess how the corporate world works anymore.

The whole DM with Greg about Scrull and venues. Greg is an idiot. First thing Marty as champion would been good business. He couldn't leave between that event until well now. That several months at less, and if he was champion and being pushed. He may have resigned with you if you paid him what he asked at the time and if business was good and likely would have been with Marty at the top. Booking large events that isn't selling isn't Flip's fault when he not the main event guy. Thats on management if you keep booking venues you can't fill. Impact down sized to smaller venues and they are doing well and funny thing is ROH went from the #2 company in North America passing at the time Impact, now Impact passed ROH back for the #3 spot. I'm not even sure who #4 ROH or MLW at this point.

I've seen a lot of sockpuppet account scandals over the years, and like usually I'd say there's no way that Greg is the one making these accounts, there's someone else in the office doing this, no f***ing chance an ROH executive is seriously making an "I'M THE GUY I DON'T LIKE ON DRUGS, HERE'S FAKED RACISM" sock. But with everything Joey has shown of his communications with Greg I can honestly believe this is all Greg, especially now that he's tried to toss the merch guy under the bus; only a management ghoul is going to try and sacrifice the merch guy to save his own ass.

twitter.com/JOEYnRetrograde/status/1198454398516695040Not embeded due to language, but HOLY SHIT! I mean, these are their top people. That is some utter contempt for your main event talent. You think Taven has buyer's remorse on his resigning yet? You think Marty and Flip aren't counting the days until their deals expire? Side note, I was hoping to find some shirt with the Kingdom four finger pose to make a mock shirt for the guy. I didn't find one, but I did find on the ROH store that they had made a best of Taven DVD which seemed funny. But what's worse is I clicked on the link and the comments section is just full of bots advertising shit. It's so sad.

If they can prove he's using sockpuppets, can't they get Greg booted from Twitter? It's against the rules as far as I remember.

I remember meeting Michael Elgin at an Indy two years ago and he had nothing good to say about Ring of Honor and was certain in his never going back there. He mentioned the way they work backstage but then just stopped and shook his head. The word I most remember is “dirty”.
At the time I didn’t want to believe him but after the last few weeks I’m seeing it.

At the time I didn’t want to believe him but after the last few weeks I’m seeing it. I remember Don Callis interviewing Elgin for the podcast Callis does with Lance Storm, and yeah, Elgin was not happy about his ROH tenure, and made sure to point out how ROH had been a dream gig for him that turned sour, without going into details or naming names. Elgin obviously has his own issues, but I'm sure he has no reason to be making anything up in this situation, especially given everything coming out this past week.
