While I don’t like them, Nickelback is inoffensive radio rock at worst and the amount of hate they get is downright silly. Nickleback is lame as hell. that said, the only reason they're the most hated band ever is because Creed broke up. if Creed had continued stinking up the airwaves with their hungerdungerdang butt-rock, it would be them in Nickleback's position.

I thought "Breathe" was a decent Nickelback song. Nothing groundbreaking, but miles better than the boring dreck they would be better known for.

I know every lyric to Len's Steal My Sunshine, and sing along to it, when I'm cleaning around the house. Uhhh...yeah. Cause that song is f***ing dope. Loved it since it came out 20 years ago. I always play it at the bar. I want to break it out at karaoke!!

I also love that the one guy in the group is like, "You can call me a one-hit wonder. That one hit made me a lot of money. I'll play that song till the day I die. I'll come to your house and play it at your birthday party." That's the proper attitude. 😁

While the Ray Wilson period of Genesis isn't well regarded, "Congo" is a killer track and is one of the absolute best in their discography.
Exodus has had a couple of good songs but as far as non-Big Four thrash goes they're overrated.
Lee Dorian has had a better influence on metal as the force behind Cathedral and his forming of Rise Above Records than as the lead singer for Napalm Death first two albums.

Not sure if it’s unpopular or not but Billie Eilish’s album is probably the best I’ve heard all year. And I predominately listen to hard rock & metal. Duh.

Heart is my favorite band from the 80s. I know they started in the 70s, but my favorite stuff came primarily from the 80s, so I'm counting it.
Warren G's 'Regulate' is still the best rap song ever.
I don't know how anybody outside the state of Alabama can enjoy 'Sweet Home Alabama'. If that song comes on when I'm out in public, I have to slip my headphones on just to drown it out.
Speaking of popular songs that I don't get the overwhelming hype for: 'Stairway to Heaven', 'Freebird', and 'Bohemian Rhapsody'. Maybe it's because I listen to a lot of prog-metal, but they just don't seem that special.
And speaking of prog-metal: Symphony X is so much better than Dream Theater.

I prefer Nine Inch Nails version of "Hurt" over Johnny Cashes.

Yeah, I'm with people on the Nickelback thing. They do have some genuinely awful songs, but they also have a handful I like; top of my head dumb as it is I can still kind of jam to Rockstar and I like Slow Motion enough it's the theme for one of my CAWs.

I like all incarnations of Jefferson Airplane/Starship. Ditto Chicago (both the jazz-fusion stuff from the 60s/early 70s and the power ballad stuff from the other half of their career).

Okay, I know the some hip-hop heads will give me crap for this, but they're stuck in the early-2000s regarding this: I never thought Ja Rule was a bad artist. Yes, I get that the pop ballads that he did ruined his image a tad. However, when 50 Cent got popular, he made it trendy to hate on the guy.

Tesla deserve MUCH MORE respect. They were lumped into the 80s hair band subgenre because of their look and the fact that they played hard rock, but they were much more than that: Saw them live over a year ago (with Joan Jett and Styx) and they were really good.

The male singer from Lacuna Coil absolutely ruins the band. He makes them unlistenable.

Jason Scheff was a better bassist and singer than Peter Cetera and its a shame he was in that band for 30 years and all they played live was the Cetera songs caus Chicago released some damn good albums in that time with Jason. And also on Chicago, Dawayne Bailey was the best guitarist they had after Terry Kath passed away.
Buckethead was the most talented guitarist Axl Rose ever worked with, not the best fit but the most talented and its a shame they didnt produce anything before Bucket left via realizing it wasnt going anywhere.
Eric Singer is the best drummer for KISS
Michale Graves was the best Misfits singer, if they didnt call themselves The Misfits he would have gotten so much of a better look from people, but sadly he wasnt Danzig so he got thrown aside instantly.
