Honestly, Rowan was probably the most egregious one. I don't consider myself a huge fan of the guy, but it was really stupid given that they've spent weeks upon weeks building him as a terror only to be housed by Brock because lord knows they haven't made Brock enough of a big bad That was a major WTF booking decision. I mean they spend months building the guy up with squashes for what? Just to have him look like a total jobber pretty much killing all the weeks of build dead in an instant. I guess maybe he sneezed in front of Vince or something.

It’s definitely going down as one of the most polarizing Rumbles in history. The reception to it seems all across the spectrum.

I legit enjoyed this Rumble more than any in like the past 10 years or so. They actually told a good story in it.

Yeah, it's very polarising and I think a lot of it just boils down to how you feel about Brock Lesnar and Drew McIntyre. If you hate Brock or at least him being booked dominantly against full-time guys, then chances are very high you hated it. Similarly, if you don't care much for Drew then you probably didn't like it. I love Brock when he's doing something unique or interesting and for me last night qualified. And I don't mind McIntyre getting a big push.

I enjoyed it, they went a little too long with the Brock stuff, but I liked what they were going for. They made Drew look like a f***ing beast This is how I felt.

I was not totally loving it in the moment, but looking back on it in its totality, I think it was actually one of the best Rumbles in recent memory.
Lesnar murdered the first few folks, then resorted to outsmarting some folks towards the end to get them out - he wasn't god mode the whole time. He put over McIntyre huge and then McIntyre went on to win the whole thing.
Surprise entrants still happened, plus freakin' EDGE came back. I get different strokes for different folks, but for me, this was one of the best ever because I got lost in the story, not the booking.

In my opinion, if you did the Brock run for 5-6 less people and didn’t include anyone that fans were behind (like Morrison, MVP, Keith Lee), then you lose the effect that the McIntyre elimination had.

Yeah I'm gonna watch it again later today and think this is where I'm at. Caught up in the moment and mad about Brock I wasn't liking it. But I think being able to see the big picture will make me appreciate it more. The pop for McInyre eliminating Brock was CRAZY

Looks like I'm in the minority of really liking how will we defeat boss Brock Lesnar and when the Ricochet and Drew combo finally did it I popped super hard. I really liked the Rumble, I don't get the hate.

One thing I didn't like about this Rumble was announcing Rusev, Bobby Lashley, Otis, Tucker, and Buddy Murphy as competitors and then replacing them with Shelton Benjamin, Cesaro, Bobby Roode, Luke Gallows, and Karl Anderson. Specifically Lashley and Rusev being removed in such a lazy way. Why protect them while feeding the returning Morrison and the Intercontinental Champion, Nakamura, to Lesnar?
The remaining unannounced spots I assume went to Edge, MVP, Matt Riddle, and Keith Lee. Though I don't understand why NXT wrestlers are surprise entrants still when they have a show and are considered a brand. Also Finn Balor missed the Rumble because NXT only gets surprise entries and those precious few spots go to showcasing new folk and not former Universal Champions.

I just wish the WWE would do away with announcing names for the Rumble in advance. I get like #1 but the rest should be a surprise. It tends to create more hate than anything. I wanted to see Rusev. I was told Rusev was in the Rumble. Then during the show I'm told he's not in. Why even jerk me around like that? Just leave it mysterious.
For the record, I thought the Women's Rumble was a great example of a "Good" Rumble. Healthy mix of talent from new, current and legends. Solid booking that made a lot of people look good. I thought the Santina spot did the opposite of what a lot of the complaints are saying. I thought it was the WWE acknowledging their past shit and putting it to bed with Santina choosing to COBRA herself when faced with the new reality.

Talking about Rusev and Lashley being in a fight instead of showing it...
as well as Lana not even talking about it during her promo....
really is them banking on the tell don't show storytelling.

I'm actually kind of amused by all the people's responses, "Well, once the Brock thing was over, the Rumble wasn't so bad!"
Yes, if you don't count the thing everyone hated, there wasn't much to hate.

Yes, if you don't count the thing everyone hated, there wasn't much to hate. I loved the Brock stuff. They announced ahead of time what they were gonna do. And did it. I wanted him to make 15 guys and get through half, but it was not to be.

Looking back on it... it's still trash.
Brock was Brock, Roman almost won again, and the camera crew screwed up As he's return.

I said in the thread that the first half is exactly how I play Rumbles in No Mercy. I have often criticized wrestling games for not often getting across a story in matches, but I suppose if my gameplay has been adapted into something that has actually been booked, my idea of what wrestling is has come into question.

Speaking only for myself, I did enjoy seeing Riddle look like an absolute chump. I still want someone to just stomp on his feet for like ten minutes straight in a match, just to teach him some sense. I'm a huge Riddle mark but this made me laugh out loud, well done.
