I've never seen a Star Wars movie. I've seen Episode 1 in theaters and some of new hope and that's it.

how dumb Dern's character's plan was (or at least why the hell did she not tell anyone in the first? It's not like the empire could listen in on her oh so incredible plan). That's the thing though, she obviously did tell the remaining senior officers and those who needed to know to enact the plan. As a hotshot fighter pilot with no fighter to fly, and having recently been busted down to a grunt, Poe wasn't in the need-to-know group. Much like the real military, the top brass don't let the rank-and-file know of the plan until it's just about time to enact it. Since the plan did require some ship-to-ship communication and evacuation of personnel and fuel from the other ships, keeping it on a need-to-know basis made sense on the off chance the First Order took some prisoners instead of blasting any ship or shuttle that fell within their range.

I WOULD (oops caps) like to see someone find a way to bring in aspects of the Old Republic into the current timeline. Im a huge Revan and Malak mark, and feel those two would scoff at what both sides of the force have become.

I've never seen a Star Wars movie. So what part of Mars do you live on? One of my coworkers is in her early 20s, Rise of Skywalker was her first Star Wars film and now she won't shut up about the Mandalorian.

Seems like that’s the direction they’re going on with project luminous or whatever the hell its called. Indicating the next films (whenever) will take place way, way in the past and I’d assume take aspects of material like KOTOR considering their popularity. As well as rumors of a young Yoda.

Every fandom has extremes, but being critical isn't the same as being whiny.

The willingness to write essays about these movies has always been wildly disproportionate to their quality, and that goes for pretty much all of them.
Not Rogue One though. Rogue One was dope.

I thought Solo was enjoyable as well. Not the greatest thing I’ve ever seen but still enjoyable.
I think the only Star Wars movie I’ve seen that I didn’t enjoy was Attack Of The Clones. And I’m not a person that’s seen the Star Wars films multiple times.

This is entirely anecdotal, but I don't know anyone who went into Solo not knowing about the whole kerfluffle making it and then didn't enjoy it.

The rank-and-file aren't paid to think, they're paid to wait until they're told to do something. When the time is right the top brass pass on the plan down the chain of command and the grunts are the last to know. From a purely narrative standpoint, revealing Holdo's plan right away ruins the tension. The audience is supposed to be on Poe's side and root for Finn to succeed in his mission, then root for them again when they learn from their failures.

Episode 1 was alright. Take out Jar Jar, it would've been fine.
Episode 2 was alright. I didn't mind the romance subplot, despite how poorly written it was.
Episode 3 was good.
Rogue One was fantastic. A number of fun characters, and a neat story to answer the question: Why did the Death Star have such a massive defect? Also answered a question from The Last Jedi.
Solo: I need to finish watching this. The little I watched was actually kinda fun.
Star Wars: Fun beginning to the franchise.
Empire Strikes Back: Probably the best of the franchise.
Return of the Jedi: Still a fun movie, even if it was probably the weakest of the original trio.
The Force Awakens: A fun adventure flick, even if it was close to the original Star Wars.
The Last Jedi: Felt like it drug in areas, but it was still alright.
Rise of Skywalker: Despite what most of the internet says, this was a fun end to the saga. It could've used some extra time to explain things (HOW ARE YOU STILL ALIVE, PALPATINE?!!), but it was still fun. Rey being Palpatine's granddaughter didn't really bother me. Palpatine was young at one point. Plus, the human species seems to live longer in the Star Wars universe.
Clone Wars and Rebels were both fun shows. Have not seen the Ewok movies.
Oh, forgot to mention: The Mandalorian is AMAZING.

I've never seen a Star Wars movie. Here's some money, go see a star war. A war between stars? Like, celebrities or the celestial bodies?

They are really not. Just some vocal minority are. I saw Rise of Skywalker opening night... a midnight screening and . So of course a lot of hardcores show up. And the response to the movie was overwhelmingly positive.. cheers and applauses throughout the movie. And just this week I was at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim. And the amount of Star Wars fans hanging around Galaxy’s Edge and Tomorrowland they were all giddy with excitement. What I just think the non whiners just don’t want to get into bitching contest with the whiners. I agree, at SW Celebration everyone was just cool and nice. Equating the loud online angry section of the fanbase to the larger one that just...likes Star Wars and isn't online arguing about the movies all day is unfair.

So you begin with the blanket statement that Star Wars fans are whiny bitches who complain about anything, and then the strawman that they apparently demand perfection, yet you criticise Episodes I, II, III for being underdeveloped, believe Episode VIII should have been a mini-series, that Episode VII is a superior remake of the first of the original trilogy which is simplistic and cliched, and blame the fans for the failure of the anthology series without even mentioning the chaotic mess that was the production of the Han Solo movie?

Still need to watch Mandalorian. My favorite has always been Empire Strikes Back, then New Hope, and Force Awakens and Return of Jedi are tied for third with me. Rogue One is underrated IMO, and Revenge of the Sith was really good- easily the most consequential and emotional prequel film. Last Jedi isn’t perfect, but I still like it a lot. Rise of Skywalker is an entertaining wrap up. The Ewoks cartoon is adorable. Rebels is awesome, Clone Wars is solid. Solo is a decent old school pulp sci fi adventure. It’s not trying to reinvent the wheel but it accomplishes its goals. Everything in Phantom Menace not related to Jar Jar Binks or the trade mumbo jumbo is enjoyable. The pod racing scene is a classic. Attack of the Clones is god damn boring. The Holiday Special is so terrible and incompetent that it’s unintentionally funny.
