By the way, I would suggest reading last week's METAL MEN #5, as a particular sequence (and a character's whole inclusion in the book in the 1st place).........sure does read like Didio knew this was coming.

Which is weird, because I think she's normally a huge asshole on social media. Can't say I agree with that opinion in the least. She certainly had a 'very mature' response to Birds of Prey's disappointing box office. ...And I'm being very sarcastic.

I don't think I've ever seen her be anything but a sweetheart, with a silly trolling streak. I've only seen her try to incite gender wars. Granted I don't follow her, but during The Mandalorean's release schedule she kicked up some huge gender argument where there wasn't one, over an episode directed by a female no less. She also got into a big fight with Fabian Nicieza where he was making valid points, and her responses were basically just putting her fingers in her ears and going "lalala I'm right and you're wrong". Not a fan. You absolutely sure that's how things went down? Absolutely?

Can we leave Gail Simone alone? Her Batgirl New 52 stuff is probably the best thing in New 52 and I like her.
Let's get back to talking about stinky Dan DiDio.

Fabian called her out for gaslighting Star Wars fans then playing the righteous victim, over a point she wasn't even correct about. He kept responding maturely, she kept responding like a brat. What she had said was "Wow, almost two whole women in tonight's episode of The Mandalorean. Progress!" Problem being that the episode had been directed by an Asian woman, which she did not acknowledge and refused to acknowledge. She just started being a jerk.

With all due respect, I think Madison and others here would like to see some evidence ofwhat you are describing rather than just claims.

This is the tweet being referenced: Can't speak for the rest of the claim, I don't have time to go through the replies. I am reading the replies and so far... there is only one Gail directly responded to that no longer exists. Which has a snarky remark about agreeing the person is an idiot. Without knowing what the person said I can't be sure what the actual response was referencing. She also said this on the subject later the same day. So she obviously liked the show.

You're allowed to both like and critique something at the same time. Crazy, I know.

So she obviously liked the show. Yeah. I don't follow her, but her tweets pop up often enough via retweets on my timeline to know she likes poking fun at the types of people who complain about "wokeness" and "forced diversity" and getting them riled up.

As a Star Wars fan, I agree with Gail that Star Wars fans are exhausting.

The fallout will certainly be the most interesting part. Didio clearly wasn't perfect, but he steered the ship for a number of years. Most writers have had positive things to say about him over the years, even if they disagreed with his practices or vision. Don't really think he has too many enemies in the field except Liefeld, oddly enough.
It could easily end up being someone with a vision like Johns or Bendis or a suit from AT&T who treats it like Time Warner did WCW. That'd be what I'd be most worried about.

Surprised he survived the, uh... divisive reaction to the New 52, only to go now.
And also put me down as someone who liked Gail's work on Batgirl, but gave up on Nightwing.
I did like the Death of the Family Arc. Don't know how much, if anything, DiDio had to do with that.

Upon reflection, I'm surprised this thread isn't titled "Dan DiDio is adios."
