Good riddence to bad rubbish. I'll never forgive the man for his role in the disaster that was Beast Machines.

If this was ten years ago I would be cheering. But honestly, his editorial policies have just done so much damage to the DCU and the DC characters I actually care about, that at this point I can't even care anymore. It's just too little, too late.

I never really understood the hatred towards Didio. Unless the New 52 was his idea. Then I totally understand the hatred.

But he was certainly the "Anti-Marriage" guy at DC. He thought it aged characters and he didn't want Superman and Lois, Mera and Aquaman, Batwoman and Maggie (which caused a massive uproar), etc. to be considered married couples. Also a Crisis allegedly changed writers midway because he was sleeping with the writer's wife... so... he had that going for him. There's also a few other less than great stories of things he allegedly did (well maybe not he specifically did but he didn't do anything to prevent.)

Before his tenure at DC was even halfway through, I had gone from reading over 20 DC books a month to reading zero DC books period. Of course, his replacement might be just as bad or even worse, so I'm not breaking out the champagne just yet.

Good riddance, you Nightwing hating piece of trash. This seems like a reasonable position to take. As someone who cares more about DC in terms of their edited collection than their periodicals, and as someone who has been annoyed by DiDio because of how flimsy DC's non-evergreen titles are, I fail to see any short-term and long-term change in terms of paperbacks and hardcovers actually coming out, let alone being published accurately or correctly. DiDio's canning will likely be a monkey's paw for DC readers. Either WB will appoint someone as the publisher who will only care about synergy and Batman numbers. Or Bendis will quickly move up in the ranks at DC. Be careful what you wish for, Wednesday warriors!

Not sure why, but that's enough for me. Those books got me through some seriously tough shit, and to have this idiot come in and just decide to start ripping them asunder really burned me on him forever.

I won't miss him.
Let Nightwing be Nightwing. Stop trying to kill him or drastically change him.
Rebirth started so great and then they decided, "But what if Wally killed Roy and massacred a bunch of other people tooooooo?"

Rebirth started so great and then they decided, "But what if Wally killed Roy and massacred a bunch of other people tooooooo?" I stand by my opinion that Heroes in Crisis was a really interesting idea that was horribly mishandled. It should’ve been a story about why it happened, not a pointless whodunnit that barely scratched the surface of the interesting concept the story was built upon. Wally having a speed force panic attack and unintentionally killing half a dozen people? There’s a damn interesting story to be told there, both in the lead up and fallout, it was just executed terribly. The actual incident isn’t the story, it’s everything else around it that’s actually the story.

Was it him or Johns who was keen on depushing Rayner and West and bringing back the silver agers?
