Yeah that shit was nasty. I wish that kind of shit was out of pro wrestling in general, it's so wrong and so damn carny. Like, imagine if you did that to someone's girl. Would that make you the good guy? No, that's a dick move. It's gross.
That's all I'll say about that for now.

In general AEW has a lot of questionable gender stuff going on I desperately want them to move past, between this, the times they've had random models stand around in swimsuits like it's Baywatch, the way the women's division is very easily the least focused-on part of the company...

I'm glad someone else said that, I have a problem with it too. Same way I have a problem with it in boxing and other sports that do it. It's not an AEW exclusive thing but whenever I see it it's like "eh, no we don't need this." Switch it up and add some dudes into the mix if they want some eye-candy.

Yeah I get that it's there for the "real sport" thing but that's an issue I have with the "real sport" mindset. We gotta switch it up. If they wanna show women doing that then shit add some dudes in the mix too. One girl, one guy, one girl, one guy, whatever. It would make AEW more respectful and different from the rest and it would also not be as jarring as it is to see it. Or just don't do it at all because we're, well, we're above that now. Shit, I'd love it if the VPs were out there during the weigh-in as well. Replace the women with them because it makes it a bigger event.

Switch it up and add some dudes into the mix if they want some eye-candy. What, Jericho's naked chest not enough for you now?

Is it just me or was Catalina’s presence in general really weird during all this? It oddly made the Big Hurt really sympathetic because you had his wife out there cheering him on and not really doing anything wrong or heelish at all, only going to attack Dustin for beating up her husband in front of her and for getting in her face first, which we’ve seen a bunch of times when a dastardly heel is going after a face’s family as a blow off spot. And yeah, the kiss was a bit of a collar tugging moment. Love Dustin to death but eek.

I've never given a thought for this one, but I'm all in with 50-50 ring gals n' dudes! I think it could be a huge hit, like serious money making idea! Someone just needs to start doing that in bigger promotions. Anyone know if this been done a lot in sports, any examples and if there's is - is it continous? It would probably do wonders for payscale problems for all models, no matter the gender. And lighten up some over serious fightin' folks with caveman mindsets. I think eye candy has a place in sports still. -> Models need gigs too, you know.

Honestly, I didn't really care one way or the other about it. I'd rather they didn't do the spot, and see why it'd skeez people out, but it kind of went in one ear and out the other with me.

I didn't see an issue with it.
You can't compare it to MeToo cause it was all for a show.
Plus this is the sort of thing that gets a pop in wrestling. Not everything has to be offensive.

This was kind of a microcosm of a small issue with the current Dustin Rhodes character...it’s very clearly meant to be an amalgam of all the characters he’s played throughout his career for his final run, but that’s not especially well-defined.
So there are definitely still Goldust elements with the facepaint, the bodysuit, etc...but he’s just portrayed as regular old “The Natural” Dustin Rhodes, 50-year-old veteran. So when he does the Goldust stuff like this (which I *think* was what he was going for) it just falls flat and is skeevy. Bad spot, and definitely shouldn’t be done again.

I’m not offended by it on a personal because you know, it’s fictional
Having said that, I was not a fan of the spot (This time or any other time because it is still gross) and was surprised shall we say that AEW would pull something like this to be honest because fictional or not, it’s not a good look for a good guy to be forcing himself onto to a woman, no matter what she’s does
And since I saw someone else comment, yeah add me surprised to the ladies they had at the weigh in on dynamite too

I am never against being slight sexy or fanservice on TV. As long its two ways and tasteful. This is why I welcome Sammy and his almost thong like Gear.

Nothing wrong with having some dudes up there standing next to the women.

I don't know how much this adds to the conversation, but I said before, I didn't have any issue with the lifeguard ladies, but the ring girls made me really uncomfortable.
