I love AEW, but ugh. This was some Vince Russo type stuff. Same with the not-needed female models in bikini's. As others have said if we're gonna objectify, let's keep it even. At the very least either have Mox take off more of his clothes, or gtfo.

Okay, so I don't watch AEW, but saw the .gif of the kiss on Twitter, and saw this thread highlighted on the homepage, so I decided to check this thread out.
From someone who is very much outside the bubble, the fact that the hero in this story sexually assaulted his opponent's wife is the thing I'm finding to be the most disgusting aspect.
How did the crowd react? Because if the hero committed sexual assault to massive cheers, that's a lot worse.
It's just... I'm not really sure what the logic to this even was.
Hirohiko Araki was trying to make Dio Brando as disgusting and repulsive as a character as he could when he had Dio do this in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. Unless he's going to start going around yelling "KONO DUSTIN DA!", what's even the point?

Same with commentary just moving past it Dio is an ass lol. He stole her first kiss when he know that devastated her

Yeah, Dio was made out to be as hated as possible. Stuff like that is why of the four parts of the anime that I've seen, Dio is by far my least favorite of the villains. Found the Piller Men and Kira to be far more interesting.

This goes back even before Dustin. In 91-92, Roddy Piper did this to Sherri at least once.

I'm more so surprised commentary didn't sell it as despicable even with Dustin as a face because Hager wife really did nothing wrong except cheer on her husband as you would expect of your spouse Kira is my guy. He's just evil, no big plan or anything like that. He just wants to kill people which I like how simple it is but how complex the story got. But yes, Dio is a big driving force and with his charisma he makes anything a big deal

I didn't see an issue with it. You can't compare it to MeToo cause it was all for a show. Plus this is the sort of thing that gets a pop in wrestling. Not everything has to be offensive. This is my stance on it, people are acting like Dustin actually did something wrong here or AEW were terrible for letting this happen when it was all a work and all a part of a show. I feel like wrestling gets a double standard with a lot of other fictional media like movies or plays. He just did it to get back at Hager and the wife for taunting him because Dustin has always been the master of mind games. Hager brought his wife there for support and to try and get into Dustin's head and he turned it right around on Jake with what he did. I don't see the issue when it's kayfabe and a show. And in the grand scheme... it really doesn't matter, it was five seconds and I really forgot it even happened until I saw this thread.

I and others barely registered it, but a not insignificant number did. Had it been done 22 years ago it would be the tamest thing compared to what they did.
It's 2020, time to humiliate the heels in a less trashy way (wipe the paint off his face and then smear her face it by hand or something).

I guess it didn't bother me as I saw it as a nod to his Goldust days when he'd do that to men and women.
Probably still should have just not done it though. At least you'll know they learn their lesson from the backlash.

This is a relic of the past that wasn’t cool back then.
Youtube suggested to me the Colt Cabana segment from the ppv and when it ends it goes to a backstage interview where Marko Stunt & Jungle Boy are perving on DDP’s daughter.Marko is trying to look down her top and then he touched her and she looked totally uncomfortable and I think they were playing it as comedy. But having anybody especially a babyface unwantedly touching a woman just trying to do her job as an interviewer is a bad look.

This is sadly not an uncommon thing with the female interviewers for whatever ungodly reason in AEW. Before Lexy, it was Jenn Decker being the brunt of the chauvinistic bullshit that many of the wrestlers are getting away with because "for the lulz" (starts at 4:06) At least MJF being a creep is within the character he's playing, but even that is just a bit much: Can we just not do this in 2020, please?
