I work for a place that cares for adults with brain injuries. Luckily they live in company group homes. They are being kept there until things overall get better. My workplace is a company-owned day service for the clients. Only one of the visiting clients has been there so far so that’s the only thing I’m needed for. Meanwhile the office staff do routine work.

I work for a grocery distributor that serves independent stores in my state and parts of two others. I am a reset specialist but all that work is on hold for now and everyone available is heading out to the stores to help them out with stocking.

I work at a major home improvement retailer. No chance we're shutting down.

I work for a Government Call Centre. Specifically the British Department of Health. I’m a bit busy at the moment, as you can imagine...
We’ve got the capability to work from home as well, so even if there’s a lockdown I’ll still be able to work. I like my job, but it’s pretty testing at present.

I work for Kroger. It's been nuts since last Thursday. Today was the first day that I was able to just work a normal 8 hour shift. Not that it was any less busy but my department didn't receive a truck today so I basically just worked all the backstock we had and was able to leave on time. I had worked at least 10 or 11 hours every day up until then. Paycheck will be nice but I'm exhausted.

I feel for you, but I can’t tell you how glad I am to hear that enough stuff is still being delivered they need people to stock. Local Wal-Mart was looking kinda sparse today.

I work from home about 70% of the time anyway (IT). My company announced Monday night that we needed express written permission from director level to go into the offices (we were already being encouraged to work from home anyway) until further notice. They expanded the employee assistance program to allocate additional funds for coach on call for mental health of their employees and their families as well as allocating 50.00 per diem per week for all employees through April 15 (12k eligible employees) for food and delivery services with strong encouragement to patronize local businesses and mom and pop shops.
I can't say how much more respect I have for my company when I read horror stories online of what other companies are doing, especially to their tipped employees (waitstaff, bartenders, casino dealers, etc.). I thought about starting a thread to put companies that deserve it on blast and others to be held up as shining examples of what should be done in times like this.

That is seriously amazing your company is offering that, and I hope many others follow suit.

I work at a community center that is closed to the community and I still have to go to work and do nothing all day.
Today, we literally rode bikes around the building.

I am a Pharmacy Technician in a retail Pharmacy (Walmart). Work has sucked as of late. People are extremely short-tempered and want everything yesterday. All this is on top of the average 400+ fills we do a day.
Luckily, I've had the past two days off, but today, I've been feeling really tired and run down, with a bit of a sore throat. I'll see how I feel tomorrow, but if it hasn't changed, I might have to call out and give the doctor a call.

I work at the Georgia Aquarium.
The positive: Still able to work, which I can't say the same for my coworkers. No traffic on the way to work. And I get to spend more time with the exhibits. With everything going on, looking at the animals that are taken for granted is like an instant cure for stress.
The negatives:The busy-work task. And more time for pointless gossip that I give two shits about.

Every time I go in their area I start acting as if I'm The Peguin angrily watching his family in captivity. Lol. We actually have a lot of them. Of course I can't touch them, but I can sing some good pics. I go back Saturday. I may take some.

Last Thursday my department was told that we were either going to work from home or work "alternate" schedules to keep us apart. Insincere a lot of my work involves going to the warehouse or production floor to investigate inventory discrepancies, I offered to work a 2 pm to 11pm shift. Today we were told we were just going to work from home. I'm not quite sure how I will get this to work but I will do the best I can.

I'm a postman for Royal Mail. There's talk of us becoming a kind of 4th emergency service during the crisis, so we won't be shutting down any time soon.

So many out-of-touch folks in charge are now looking at you guys as "essential" workforce while simultaneously making sure you never earn a decent wage. It's something I really hope this pandemic opens some eyes to.

While I am getting paid at least for my next two weeks of work. I'm a full time lead at a sporting goods store and am strongly recommended to come in to do curbside pickup even though my state has ordered all non essential businesses to shut down. Makes no sense...

My workplace is now closed for the next two weeks. We're waiting for the state to put quarantine in effect, then staff will probably wind up being quarantined in the house as well.
