Let’s all think about this, they were all desperate people who needed a job and Joe gave them one and a place to stay, yet when asked they said that Joe got what he deserved, Joe truly was evil.

Just binged this all in one sitting. Feel like I need a shower. I think the comments attempting to equivocate Carole and Joe, or more specifically trying to equivocate Big Cat Rescue and GW Zoo, are completely asinine. Baskin's organization does legitimately good work, taking in animals that can't survive in the wild and trying to give them a good life. Exotic's zoo not only bred and sold endangered animals but abused and unnecessarily killed them as well. And in terms of personality, Baskin is at best a weirdo yuppie and at worst a complete whacko (and possible murderer if you believe circumstantial evidence) while Exotic plies damaged young men with drugs to get into relationships with him and is in jail for attempting to arrange a murder. There's legitimately no comparison, and I think the only reason people are even attempting to do so is that Exotic is charismatic and totally off-the-wall, while Baskin alternates between eccentric and smug with little middle ground. Though having said that, as much of a psychotic cartoon as Exotic is, Lowe and Antle seem significantly worse. Beyond that, this was an engrossing train wreck of a show. Grimy and sad but weirdly captivating all the same. Thing is that even a guy like Antle does a lot of good for animals just mostly at he conservation in Africa as do a lot of the places that she goes up against. I think the big issue is that when you compare the living conditions and food that is fed at Big Cat Rescue is significantly worse than some of the other places

Just watching the new episode. Kinda underwhelming, because I’ve heard interviews with all these guys already.

I think the big issue is that when you compare the living conditions and food that is fed at Big Cat Rescue is significantly worse than some of the other places Antle is still breeding the animals and using them as tourist attractions though, which is an inherent part of the problem. BCR doesn't do any of that (or at least hasn't done it for 20-something years), they just take in animals.

Just got through watching the main series, dunno if I'll watch the bonus thing or not. It is... certainly an experience, though I really don't know how anyone could come away from that finding Joe sympathetic. Funny and charismatic certainly, definitely has a charm to him, but the guy's pretty awful.

If you had to spend even a day with Joe or Antle you'd probably want to strangle them. It reminds me of how Joe Pistone said that while Donnie Brasco was a good movie, in real life the gangsters were a bunch of obvious lowlifes whose charm could only carry them for like one conversation.

What a weird and bizarre documentary, none of the people in this come out of it well.
I didn't know what would happen throughout but I certainly wasn't expecting a James Garretson on a jetski montage.

In an alternate world, Joe is basically the best frontman you can have if you were running a legit zoo business His biggest problem is hubris and thinking he's bigger then he actually is.

New stuff from the Life’s Short with Justin Long podcast and the Tiger King podcast.
Carole only makes sixty grand a year from Big Cat Rescue, she makes most of her money through real state, so the sanctuary isn’t this huge empire.
Howard, Carole’s husband, is the one who wanted to pursue legal action against Joe.
Joe was sexually abused when he was five years old.
Joe would sexually harass his male employees.
Joe would rent a motel room and participate in meth fueled orgies.
He wouldn’t allow Travis to contact his family.

The issue was never how much Carole makes from Big Cat Rescue, she was/is a millionaire thanks to getting her husbands fortune Considering Joe had two husbands at once, that's not surprising. Just like with Doc Antle, neither really makes any bones of having their own little harem Didnt Travis mom work at the park so that last one seems weird

Yeah I don’t like to speculate on that kind of stuff, but I definitely got the vibe that Travis’ mom was an addict as well. She was working at the park and it was seemingly pretty openly known that Travis was on meth. If she wasn’t on drugs herself, I can’t imagine her being okay with that.

She was tweaking out at Travis's funeral. Joe's a massive piece of shit.

Save yourself the time and skip the TMZ program on this. It's more garbage thrown at Carole Baskin from the Sheriff that keeps chasing a hunch that hasn't proved fruitful.
