I started watching it. There's no one you can call the "hero." Everyone's there to laugh at or shake your head at.

Honestly I can't see a scripted series being anywhere near as watchable. Just seems pointless. That is some pretty great casting though.

The problem I have with a series, if you want to call it a problem, is that it helps feed into Joe's delusions of grandeur. I mean, it's not like he needs any help in that department.

Honestly I can't see a scripted series being anywhere near as watchable. Just seems pointless. That is some pretty great casting though. The curiosity factor will undoubtedly be there in the first episode. Nothing screams rubbernecking at a train wreck like "Nicholas Cage plays Joe Exotic" splayed across the marquee. But my questions is, when this thing finally hits air, presumably sometime in 2021, will anyone care anymore? It feels like the 15 minutes of fame have come and gone for "Tiger King." It was a fun thing to talk about and dissect at the start of the coronavirus quarantine in March, but it feels like we as a collective nation have kind of just moved past it and on to the next thing. I think it'll have a brief resurgence come October when everyone dresses up as Joe or Carole Baskin at Halloween parties, but you could sense it when the bonus episode featuring Joel McHale aired a few weeks ago. It was released on Netflix and within a day, nobody was talking about it. The episode just came and went and was totally forgotten about. And I feel that's sort of the fate for "Tiger King" for the remainder of time. It was the fun thing that helped us pass time as a nation when we were all locked indoors, but after everyone had seen it and discussed it ad nauseam, we got our jokes and our memes out of the way and moved on to the next subject.

She gets to keep the animals or did Jeff already stole them? Article says Jeff Lowe has to vacate the animals off the property And I’m sure he’ll move them to a much better facility and take care of them.....I get the feeling it’s not really about the animals with her anyway (or anyone involved in the show to be fair)

As was mentioned, for the most part this was the most fast food/disposable of documentaries. We all watched it, were appalled/amused and for the most part have already moved on.
I never even watched that follow up interview thing cuz as funny as the memes and stuff were for about a week, the sheer onslaught of them burned me out on caring at all.
I've been calling for Halloween costumes for a bit, but even that I think is gonna be pushing it. I really feel like it's sorta like a handful of pop rocks. There's something there for a second while you consume it, then it dissolves quickly.

The story was about Joe and his story is basically done, he's in jail. Pretty much noone involved likes it or wants to be associated with it so there's noone trying to promote it, keep it going. And everyone is so terrible, the more you find out, the less funny and more sickening it becomes so the audience doesn't want to bring it up, animal abuse is the most universal "f*** off" there is pretty much.

Oh there are certainly likeable secondary characters like Eric, Josh and Saff but they're not really the ones the show focuses on.

If Joe wasn’t stupid enough to violate the copyright none of this should’ve happened.

It says a lot that one of the most likeable and down-to-earth characters is a Miami drug-lord who was (apparently) the inspiration for Scarface, but, when I finally watched the damn series on Netflix at the start of the pandemic, one thing that I think doesn't get talked about enough is when Seff loses an arm and Joe's response is 'I'm never going to financially recover from this' and I just remember thinking 'one of your employees just got their arm bitten off, you callous hick!'
