70% is still better than not even bothering. Again, it depends if people are following protocols or not after the testing. Otherwise, the false sense of security can be even worse in my opinion. Testing should be another tool added on as a safety precaution, not as a replacement. Meltzer discussed this with regards to UFC and how Rogan was complaining that they still had to be distanced on the show even though they were all tested and negative.

Not having a fever can introduce a similar false sense of security, especially for people not knowledgeable about the virus and not knowing that it can spread asymptomatically. WWE's also had at least one person test positive for COVID-19 and it's a minor miracle they didn't spread it to anyone else that we know of. You'd think in that case, they'd be more interested in putting a regular testing protocol in place, especially as that person was asymptomatic.

The temperature check could give a false sense of security but I think it’s fairly common knowledge about the asymptomatic spread. The false negatives of the testing is likely a less commonly-known fact. But yeah, WWE should do the testing in addition to all of the other precautions. The more tools the better.

We had at least one state governor as recently as about 3-4 weeks ago who didn't know that didn't know the virus could spread asymptomatically. There's been so much noise and misinformation about this virus, how it spreads, and what it can do that it can be difficult to really cut through to the truth of it. I hope that for WWE's, UFC's, AEW's, and any other wrestling or MMA organizations' sakes that they are following all precautions, especially if testing isn't readily available.

Sigh.

I mean... My company isn't giving us tests everyone we get to work, but we're doing everything else that Alexa Bliss mentioned in that interview. How many other companies, and I don't mean AEW or UFC but companies in general, are testing their employees regularly? Why does WWE have to be held to such a higher standard?

Does your job require you to regularly come in close contact with and sweat over each other while half-naked? And doing so in a ring where several other people have done the same thing with their sweat and whatever else has been in there? If so, your job should also be testing more often. If not, this is a ridiculous false equivalency. And it's not just WWE, but ANY pro wrestling or sports league.

Despite the fact they fired or furloughed a bunch of people, they’re well towards making a profit so they can afford to literally do everything to make it work during the pandemic. The problem is, if what is alleged by some corners is true, Vince doesn’t give a f*** and thinks this whole thing is overblown anyway, which is “fine” if you’re Joe Q. Public who wants their social media 15 minutes but not if you’re a billion dollar company with loads of workers and employees.
