Not every TAS episode is great, but it's what I think of when I think of Batman outside the comics.
If a portrayal of Batman isn't as good as the Batman in DCAU, then he doesn't measure up.

It's rated about right, as a very good superhero cartoon with the best version of many of it's rouge gallery.

Has some of the best depictions of the Batman villains. TAS Joker is my favorite version. It did a great job with Two Face and Mr. Freeze. It created Harley Quinn. Clayface, Scarecrow, and Killer Croc are very good. Did a good job with Poison Ivy and Catwoman. Did some great things with lesser known villains like Clock King, Scarface, Baby Doll.

Really even if the show weren't otherwise excellent I'd want to give it points for somehow getting away with the Roxy Rocket episode.

I have found it over rated. Seen it getting praised like it is the best cartoon ever. When it is just ok at best.

And there is an argument to be made, the Batman and Joker combo of Conroy and Hamill is up there with some of the great combos you can have with the characters

Oh, and since this is a TAS thread, gotta drop respect for the one guy who was able to get Joker, Charlie Collins.

I don't know, Batman TAS is pretty damn good. Honestly I'd make the argument that Batman Beyond is underrated.

I think Batman has aged way better than Spiderman or X Men.
X Men has dialogue straight from the comics. It's immensely stilted. Spiderman is better but Batman just shits on them both and that creative team wouldn't even start peaking in my eyes for another ten years.

I like Batman Beyond but I don't really love it. It has some definite gems but I feel like they're a lot more few and far between and there are plenty of episodes I'd say are outright bad. It's a perfectly acceptable follow-up, and really if nothing else it being what finally managed to provide a suitable resolution to Mr. Freeze's plot line is worthy of praise, but it's not a successor I hold up on the same level or anything.

I'd say no. It more or less redefined the Batman mythos, reinvented much of the rogues gallery in ways that still resonate today, and created one of the franchise's most beloved characters in Harley Quinn. I think it does deserve a lot of the hype it's earned. I don't know, Batman TAS is pretty damn good. Honestly I'd make the argument that Batman Beyond is underrated. If we're going down that route then the correct answer of underrated is Brave and the Bold

It aged a bit but it still left a big impact
It gave Batman a bunch of its mainstream tropes and characters and it setup the Justice League Animated series, which might be one of the best cartoons of all time.Definitely THE best super hero cartoon

I actually loved "The Batman" since it took a veeeery different approach to the characters

It's hard for every episode of ANY show to be all hit unless it's a miniseries, so I'm not going to hold BTAS having a few duds against it. It was an excellent, groundbreaking show in a lot of ways. I don't think Batman is as popular today without it. Hell, I think the superhero genre as a whole would be in a very different place if it wasn't what it was. I thought TNBA was really good, too, though some of the new character designs like Catwoman's felt like distinct downgrades. Poison Ivy having grey skin was also really weird to me.
