Hear me out. ....
Before you bring out the pitchforks......
I did watch it kinda regularly growing up but outside of two face pt 1&2 I really never was like I gotta see that episode again once it comes on.
Unlike X-Men & Spider-Man which I can and have probably watched millions of time and still love it.
Never really felt that way about Batman TAS Is Mask of the phantasm considered part of TAS?
That being said.....Is it streaming on any platforms? Maybe “adult” me will see it differently some 20+ yrs later.

I loved it growing up but can't quite get into it these days. Same with X-men. And for all the good I've heard about Clone Wars, I'm having a hard time getting into that, though I really want to watch to get now Star Wars story. All the cartoons just aren't hooking me.

Even to this day, I've seen maybe 3/4 of Batman TAS. Despite that, I think that it's leaps and bounds over many of the animated adaptations because of it's writing and direction.
The '90s Spiderman was good for it's day, nowadays, not so much. Same thing with X-Men, in my opinion. So I'm kind of in the opposite camp.

I accidentally found Batman Brave & the Bold one day and enjoyed the handful of episodes I saw.

Greatest cartoon of he 90s according to some. I think it's good enough to be on anyone's shortlist of best cartoons of the 90s. IF someone were to think it was the best of the decade, I wouldn't argue with them.

It's on DC Universe.
And I wouldn't agree at all, show's still fantastic for me. It does certainly have some duds, and season 4 while it has its highlights isn't really anything special, but the show still has a ton of episodes I consider absolute classics.

Only if you count The New Batman Adventures as a seperate series, because much-loved stuff from TNBA like Mad Love tends to be lumped in under BTAS. But as a whole between the two, its reputation is well deserved.

But as a whole between the two, its reputation is well deserved. They seem to waver back and forth on if they're considered the same show - DC Universe has New Batman Adventures listed separately, but the complete series Blu-ray includes it.

I used to think Batman: TAS was overrated, I think I just wanted to be a contrarian at the time. It stands the test of time better than New Batman Adventures does. I'd say Batman Beyond is overrated as well despite an excellent first season and Return of the Joker. Seasons two and three of Beyond are fairly generic.
Mask of the Phantasm is canon to the show, and it would have made a worthy conclusion, but Sub-Zero is a nice enough follow-up, and everyone is in a good place by the end of it also.

Hell no. Its quality, impact and legacy cannot be overstated for superhero content and animation in the US.

Consider that it held the Batman franchise up during the Batman & Robin and Batman Forever movies, which took the franchise in a much different direction. I'll throw in that the Harley Quinn character, which is everywhere, started here, and even though YMMV with how much you enjoy HQ, it needs to be noted. Moreover, the portrayals of Two-Face, Mr. Freeze, and Riddler's origins made the characters much more rounded then they have been portrayed. And, I don't even need to bring up Mark Hamill's joker.

And the spin-offs. The Superman and Justice League shows are great superhero television that really helped modernize and popularize so many characters. Wonder Woman, Flash and ESPECIALLY Green Lantern. All built on the strength of Batman TAS.

It's probably the best adaptation of Batman of any kind, so no it is not overrated. I will say I do not like Mask of the Phantasm at all though.

No. Not every TAS episode was great, but they all had something interesting happening in them. Mask of the Phantasm has one of my favorite Batman in media scenes with the flashback of Beaumont's murder and Joker walks out his house just whistling like it's not big deal.

With the things that it added to the Batman more, plus shifting the idea of what a DC animated show could be away from the Superfriends ideal, I would say it is not overrated.
Along a similar vein though, I would say that the Superman animated series is underrated. While it doesn't have as much an impact as Batman did, it did modernize Superman to the public, and introduced the characters of Livewire and Mercy Graves to the Superman universe.
And this just makes me wish they had a solo Wonder Woman series at this time too.

Absolutely not
Still part of the gold standard in how to do a cartoon that appeals to kids and adults. BTAS while not having every episode great still overall is a great experience that fleshes out many of the characters and has very good themes that are very easy to follow and read
Add on that is is responsible for the DCAU as a whole. Spun off to Superman which itself is another highly touted cartoon along with what came after in the JL seasons and Batman Beyond
Also yes, Mask of the Phantasm is BTAS

Darker then you actually think it is tho the finale and start of JL does leave some unanswered questions
