I honestly think it’s partially her getting blown up pretty quickly, and general laziness. The past two times she’s done spots that received criticism with Kairi, it was her half-assing a move. She didn’t get Kairi close enough to the buckle before throwing her, and she didn’t lift her up enough to get her footing for the stair spot. Same thing with the time she dropped Charlotte on her head on that Shoulderbreaker. She’s not giving her full effort on this shit because she’s sucking air, and it’s putting her opponents in danger.

She has to go. She's gotten no better and doesn't care about getting better. She's more interested in playing the victim.
Fire her. Full stop.

For those who haven't seen it, it's around 1:36.
At this point Nia's beyond defending. She's become the Ahmed Johnson of women's wrestling.

I just don’t get it. This spot especially is so basic. She has to know that you’re not actually supposed to throw someone when you “throw” them into the ropes/corner/steps. If she knows and just doesn’t care, that’s really bad. And if she doesn’t know, that’s a major indictment of the training going on.

If she wasn't related to The Rock, she'd likely be gone by now.
But she is. And WWE will keep her around to keep The Rock happy so that he can come back when they need to pop a rating.

It would seem weird that he’d be like “Don’t fire my f***up cousin or I’m never showing ever again”, but he’d be completely cool with them being pissed off at Roman Reigns for taking care of his family during a pandemic. Why would one be a dealbreaker and not the other if both concepts are believed to exist at the same time?

I don't think being related to the Rock plays much into it. Lots of Anoa'is have been cut during his career as well as after it.

Exactly, but this comes up all the time with Jax as like the main reason why they don’t cut her. Yet, I’ve never seen it come up with the story about Reigns having heat for taking personal leave with his family during the pandemic, even though it’s something Rock probably WOULD be mad with WWE about given how close these families with Pacific Islander heritage usually are.

Just release her. She's 36, has a history of major injuries, and shows no signs of recognizing the problem, she's not going to improve.

What I don't get is surely you'd feel bad every time you accidentally hurt an opponent.
Accidents do happen in wrestling but they happen with such a regularity with Nia, I feel like she doesn't give a shit if she hurts someone and if that's the case, she has no business being in the ring.

Honestly, the sad thing is we've sort of reached a point where Nia isn't going to get punished for this. Mostly because it feels like the company refused to step in with the incidents before this that stretched back months. So she'll probably tweet about how hard off she is or make a joke about it or something like that and they'll move on. It shouldn't be the case but it probably will be. the time to tlak to her about this ... or suspend her... or put her in the PC or anything like that has long since passed... but she's gotten away with dropping Charlotte on her head. Breaking Becky's Nose. Injuring Bayley... all the recent shit with Kairi... and all of those are off the top of myhead without getting any kind of reprimand from what it seems like... and yeah it's wrestling shit happens some times... but there's a pattern of Nia just being flat out reckless.

I mean it's almost like rewarding everyone involved when she hurt someone the first time didn't send a good message or something.

Jessamyn Duke looked like she wanted to jump the barrier. Yeah, pretty sure she’s already got issues with Nia due to what she’s said about Ronda’s in-ring skill. And seeing this firsthand didn’t help in that regard. Apparently Shafir & Duke are tight with Kairi, Io, Dakota and Teagan. So it could be that Duke dislikes Nia for shitting on Ronda and it could be seeing her friend being potentially injured. edit: they're tight with Mia Yim, not Teagan.

Good thing Nia never worked in Japan, could you imagine Nia trying to rough up Aja Kong? It seems either Nia is really bad in the ring or she doesnt care.

36 is way too old to need any kind of training or development or seasoning. This is an easy release.

That was awful and if Sane didn't have a concussion after that then she's very fortunate. Jax survives because they are crying out for monsters in the women's division, Tamina is useless, Kong was past it and had issues during her run, Havok probably wouldn't have made it but her racist SM posts meant we wouldn't find out, Aloisia fell foul of NSFW videos but would have probably been useless. Nia's continued employment and push (it would be the easiest thing in the world to make her a heels bodyguard and restrict her to suckerpunches when the refs back is turned if you want to keep the family happy) is HHH looking for his new Chyna as weird as that sounds. I think Nyla Rose is an AEW lifer since the company has been so behind her since day one of its existence but she's going to get offers from HHH if she continues to improve.

it's happened too many times now to just be bad luck or coincidence. She's a very dangerous, very sloppy worker.
The issues are I think
1) She's big but she's not particularly strong. So they have her doing powerhouse moves but she doesn't have the strength to do those moves safely.
2) She has poor stamina which means she gets very tired very quickly which is where the sloppiness comes into it. When you're exhausted, you can't think straight and you make errors, which she does all the time.
3) She's just not good at wrestling, she's just not cut out for it. I know she comes from a big wrestling family but it feels like that wrestling talent skipped over her. It happens sometimes, look at David Flair or Lacey Von Erich.
WWE really need to take action with her, if they continue to do nothing and let her carry on as she is she's going to seriously hurt someone. And I don't mean break someones nose or cut them open , but career threatening or ending injuries.
At the very least, no more Nia Jax vs Kairi Sane matches.

If WWE want a talented big girl who isn't reckless as all hell, why not just use Viper / Piper Niven?

If WWE want a talented big girl who isn't reckless as all hell, why not just use Viper / Piper Niven? She may not want to relocate to the US. Can’t underestimate how massive a commitment that is. In terms of other bigger women on the books and already in the US, there is Raquel Gonzalez, but she’s still very green in her own right.

I don't know if I'd say they should fire her, but get her the hell of the ring at least. Move her into another role like guest panelist for PPVs, Raw Talk, commentary on Main Event... just about anything f***ing else.
