I remember the awful one was Jojo right when she was making hit music in 2004 and 2006. That was just digusting.

Yeah. "Countdown to 18" shit was incredibly normal back then, and its so weird to look back on now. In fact I actually made a thread celebrating Selena Gomez's legality on this very forum if you dig back far enough in my thread history. That was before I got woke on those kind of issues, and also to be fair I'm only three years old than her. But I was actually called out for it by other users even back then when I made it. Which helped me on my journey. Its just wild the shit grown ass men could get away with openly saying about 15-17 year olds back then. And never forget how long /r/jailbait openly existed for.
Add me to the list of "I said a bunch of dumb shit on the internet 15-20 years ago that I wish I could take back"
That's why I tend to take it on a case by case basis when someone's old tweets come back to haunt them - God knows I have some old shame out there in the name of fitting in and trying to be funny.

Some newspapers would even do this. Didnt the Sun to this with Emma Watson? I remember one of the papers having a pop at the TV show Brasseye for doing a piece of satire on Peadophilia but literaly on the page opposite was something similar to countdown to 18.

I'm offended on behalf of actual newspapers that you called the Sun a newspaper. But yeah I wouldn't be surprised. That she was blatant as hell back then and completly normalized.

Yeah I had some pretty toxic ideas about women especially up until like 2012-2014 (it was a gradual development over these years) that I'm very embarrassed about now. That said, if called on it by someone I would own up to it like James Gunn rather than go into denial spree or complaining about cancel culture lol.

I'm right there with you. Let's be real though: who hasn't? Teenagers and especially early 20-somethings tend to be complete idiots and we realize this when we look back in our 30's and go "Well that was f***ing embarrassing."
We all hopefully grow and mature as we age. And I'm usually a lot more skeptical of someone who thought they were great in that age range than someone who can admit how much of a moron they were.
