With a little help from my friends. I watched The Wonder Years every week and thought Joe Cocker (this was before I was aware it was a Beatles song originally) was singing "What would you do if I sang out A tune", not "out of tune", which always made me wonder why someone would walk out on him just for singing.

AC/DC, for the longest time, I thought the chorus of Moneytalks was "Marry for the money", not "love me for the money".

Forgot about this one until I heard it on the radio today.
I thought it was "killing me softly with his saw." I wasn't the brightest kid, and this song terrified me. I wondered how such a gruesome song could get radio play. I always shake my head at myself now when I hear it lol.

I still don't know how the Chorus to Song Of The South Goes.
Is it "Sweet Potato Pie and I'll shut my mouth?"
Or "Sweet Potato Pie that'll shut my mouth?"

Deep Inside by Hardrive. I misheard it as “Deep In Snot.”

"I wanna rock and roll all night...and part of every day."
I used to work in a casino over a decade ago. There was always music on over the speakers. There was one time I was at work, just wasting time and changing the computer desktop background and such. As I was clicking around and looking at the option to lock the taskbar. I shit you not, Rock the Casbah was playing. Now "lock the taskbar" is all I can think of when I hear it.

In the RHCP song "Around the World" there's a line that to me sounded like "I try not to whine but I must warn ya about the mothaf'n guvna California" and thought it was weird they had some random line about Arnold Schwarzenegger in there. But really it's "Girl from" and not "guvna" it just sounds weird. Don't even think Arnold was governor yet when that was written.

Joe doesn't really enunciate that word very well, so yeah; I totally understand why you heard "a tune".

“And it must have been so bad, ‘cause Little Women must have damn near killed you” (Nickelback, How You Remind Me)
“He’s dancing with the chicken slacks” (Sam Cooke, Twisting the Night Away)
“Hypnotize and eggs garage in me” (Four Seasons, December 1963)

Nobody Told Me by John Lennon
originally heard the lyric as "there's Nazi's in the bathroom just below the stairs" instead of the actual "there's matches"

I’m glad this thread is back, because I thought of two more:
“And your glass of aloe, you’re my living proof” (Edwin McCain, I’ll Be)
“Stomp on your fingers, the blame is on me” (Boys to Men, On Bended Knee)
