Rusev was legit my favorite dude in the company for a couple years there. NONE OF IT WAS F***ING WITH YOU, MIRO!
Yeah, he probably doesn't read this forum, but still. I'M MARKING MIRO DAYS ON MY CALENDAR FOR YOU, MIRO!

It still baffles me how this company isn't bleeding money with how often they seem to just spite their audience and talent than for no other reason than to appease the ego of an out-of-touch old man. Lapsed Vince: It's about BRANDING. Sure, they cheer Rusev, but really how does it help the Brand? You see, I'M the victim here, pal....so f*** him.

Vince has always been a control freak, but this thing he's had the past few years where no one in the audience is allowed to like anything without his permission has really killed his company. Ryder gets buried because people liked his Youtube show. Ring announcers can't pause after "one fall" because people liked repeating it. Announcers can't call the referees by name in case people start liking one referee more than another.
I would bet that privately, Vince is loving the empty arena shows, because he finally has an audience that will react to everything exactly how he tells them to react.

I'm really glad wrestling is starting to boom again outside of the WWE landscape. The pandemic was a speedbump but it's creeping back, and with it, wrestlers are finding air, and purpose outside of a landscape where THIS is their daily routine.
WWE used to be the dream but at this point going there and being there sounds like a nightmare unless you're a handful of people. I'm glad more alternatives are springing up so wrestlers don't have to be like "Well what else is out there?", now a lot more stuff is out there, and them betting on themselves is better than what WWE could ever do right now for most of them.

Imagine squashing Rusev day and continuing to push Baron Corbin. What a dipshit

Every now and then I think to myself, "Am I just overreacting when it comes to the blatant stupidity of this company?" And then I read this.
Damn near all of us were saying that Rusev should ha e gotten a real chance based on how people were responding to him. From the flag match with Cena where Rusev should have won to him maintaining being a dominant upper mid card heel to eventual world champion. He deserved it. A dominant heel run and a face run. Rusev had it. But they went out of there way to sabotage his overness. Just sad.

The Rusev day stuff stands out but the 'Don't look at the people, don't smile, don't do this.' is most indicative of their issues.
Sure there's times you have to be serious but most of the time fans want to see the wrestlers having fun, that makes the fans enjoy it more, those good vibes spread to the next match and they all have fun again. It's an ongoing positive feedback loop.
However when wrestlers don't look like they give a shit, the fans stop caring about them, that deflates the audience, they then don't cheer as much the next match, those wrestlers think why bother and an ongoing negative feedback loop starts.
It's similar to traditional logic stating you send somebody popular out in the first segment to get the fans warmed up but WWE send Corbin out there.

Saw someone discussing this elsewhere, they brought up back when WWE did everything they apparently could to separate the "Yes" chant from Bryan, because they were afraid the chant was getting him too over. They let Big Show try it, they had Stephanie try and get one started, they even recorded the crowd chanting it in response to a video of Bryan recovering from injury and instead showed it on TV like they were chanting for the WWE Network's price. "You're not over, the chant is", "we could give that chant to anyone else and it'll work", "they're using it to make fun of you", it's the same shitty mentality over and over again.

And what makes this make no sense to me is that...you’re making money from it. If an idea Vince didn’t have 100% input in makes money, guess who makes the money? Vince. The fact he sets out to avoid making money from the people he is actively paying an income to sometimes is actually insane because if they don’t make money from you, what are you paying them for? There are way cheaper ways to get warm bodies for weekly television.

I still wonder how so many want to work there or these says want to sign with them knowing how this is? Yes I know money and stuff but is all of that worth the headaches if your not allowed at all to get over on your own? That was great about the 90s and ext. If a wrestler wants to do something, they get to do it and if it worked they get pushed. I think about Steve Austin and what wonder what would happened in today's WWE if he came in off the indies.

And even when he won the KOTR in 1996, it wasn’t until Bret wanted to work with him near the end of the year that they actually did something with the guy. In modern WWE, he probably wouldn’t have gotten beyond The Ringmaster.

Not even I can believe that Vince is this out of touch or senile, I just cant. I feel like he (Vince) or someone had it in for Rusev for some reason. Something is going on there. I cant find anyone who faulst Rusev if I am honest, never really heard much of a bad word social media or boards. He was a star.

Man, AEW would do really well to turn Cody heel and have Rusev debut and squash him at All Out.

When Aiden joined him and did the entrance for him the act was complete and Rusev was mega over and they did everything in there power to take it all away from him IMO, at that point Rusev was just a cool finishing move short of being the complete package He needed some sort of impact finisher that's not the Machka Kick. I'm probably in the minority, but camel clutches are lame for a finisher.

WWE offers them opportunities and big money and they're the most famous wrestling promotion in history, and working on the indies rather than with AEW or NJPW is not in any way a secure job. No matter how bad WWE gets, and how well known that is, I will never question any worker going to WWE if they get an offer.
