Absolute pathetic. That's what the WWE is. Vince and his writers would rather try to ignore or twist reality than just accept that fans want something they weren't expected to want. It's the age-old refrain, but if Vince had thought like this in the 90s, the WWE wouldn't even exist today. Vince is a guy whos first creative instinct has nearly always been wrong for like 25 years. Hes a f***ing creative zilch. A cancer. Things worked out so well in the mid to late 90s because he had someone like JR signing talent, his wrestlers were allowed to have major influence in their characters, and his hand was forced by competition to listen to the fans. If its just him and his creative....mind and micromanaging, hes an absolute failure creatively. He has nothing. He always thinks the shittiest thing is going to work and is never on board initially creatively with the smash successes. Just a f***ing absolute creative dunce. BTW, whatever happened to that "ANY REACTION IS GOOD" cop out bullshit he was pushing when his projects like Reigns failed to get over as top face? How come that only applies with the guy he likes? My top guy is detested by the fans? They're reacting, so its okay. The guy I don't like is universally over and getting as big a positive reaction as the failures combined positive and negative reaction? NOPE DOESN'T COUNT. Absolute, pure bullshit. You think that if Daniel Bryan got a fraction of the boos Reigns got in Feb 2014 that Reigns got for a half a decade, he'd still be main eventing WM XXX? No way. Not even close. Because if the senile old man likes you, no reaction is bad enough. If he doesn't like you, no reaction is good enough. He's got to f***ing go the f*** AWAY.

Might as well accept the brutally honest truth..WWE will never get better as long as Vince is incharge.
If Vince doesnt see potential in you, even if everybody else in the company does. Forget it pal.

I honestly can't think of anything more frustrating and soul destroying. Poor Miro. I'm sad he's fallen out of love with wrestling cause he would be amazing in the current hoss landscape of AEW. Brodie Lee, Cage, Archer, Wardlow, Luchasaurus; Miro would put on some crazy matches with these dudes.

I always had this odd feeling that Vince legitimately didn't like Rusev because he's a large foreigner who married a hot American blonde. Don't discount the effect of Rusev having the personality of a goofy, friendly, uncompetitive hipster. I wouldn't be surprised if Vince is existentially threatened by the idea that men like that could succeed. Explains Balor too

Haha, I still remember people saying Rusex was really going to start going places soon and we all needed to wait and see through the lack of push for Rusev Day....and then the Aiden English breakup....the shitty heel turn....the shitty cuckold story....and now he's gone.

Vince's mother is still alive at 100.
Vince himself is 75.
So, y'all got at least 25 more years of Vince in charge, because you know he's too stubborn to retire

Then I'm sure we'll see him in AEW

The hard part in wrestling is getting someone over. What connects & doesn't connect with fans can change on a whim. But once they're over, then wrestling is easy. You just have them win matches, have commentary put them over, and play to their strengths.
It isn't tricky to see who is over, either. Fans buy their t-shirts, they chant their name, & in case your ears aren't too clever, they even write the name on a piece of card & hold it up. Not difficult, is it?

I don't buy that he's retired either, he's working us, but AEW's babyfaces mostly even skew heelish, and I'm not sure even they would put him in the main event. IIRC he said on the Ryback Podcast that he isnt retired but just recovering "I'm done, I'm done, man. I'm just enjoying my Twitch. I'm a professional Twitcher, YouTuber, and content creator. I'm not a wrestler any more." I don't expect him to stay "retired", to be honest, but - much like Barrett - I do think he's had the passion knocked out of him and I can see him taking time off to do his own thing until he gets the itch again. AEW would be a good fit, given the amount of freedom to create their performers have, but Miro can afford to give himself some R&R for a year or two.

How would you NOT be burned out after hearing that?
WWE is always talking about reaching for the brass ring and getting over yourself.
Then when it happens, you're basically told "Well actually, that wasn't supposed to happen so you're gonna have to start all over again"
Its happened with Ryder, Barrett and loads of others. They get over in spite of the company and instead of running with it and MAKING MONEY which you'd think Vince Mcmahon would be all about... They instead get punished for it.
Whats the point?

Rusev just didn't play the game right. He tried to take the king when he should have taken the rook. This led to the black knight taking his queen and knocking him out.... That's the chess game

I feel like Vince's Success today can be attributed less to him being smart and more to him lacking any sort of morals.

It wasn't the main reason, but squandering guys who can do it all in wrestling like Rusev is one of the reasons I stopped watching.
